Default rear-mounted turbo, single turbo or vortech

hey guys,
want to go the FI route and i'm trying to decide between a rear-mounted turbo, single turbo or vortech supercharger v3 unit. i'm looking for the application that will give me good power while maximizing engine life and maintenance.

i know the rear-mounted turbo is a good option cause it's easy to service the oem parts in the engine but i'm not sure about the best option between the 3.

any advice would be much appreciated as i'm a newbee in this area and don't really know jack about it.

happy new year and best of health and happiness to all you guys/girls!

Click the link in my sig...... I have the solution to your power problem.

FYI - you may want to give more info - power goals, year & trans type, budget, any other mods done already.

Oh, and never forget that F/I and maximizing engine life and maintenance are usually mutually exclusive.

If all you are looking for is 400whp i would say the T-Trim vortech kit, it has smooth power and is very reliable power. But if you plan on going for more power later on down the road the Powerlab kit is a very nice kit!!

PM me if you have any questions!

single turbo. STS or powerlab. theres a reason why theres so many turbonetic and vortechs for sale. people outgrow/get bored with them very quickly.

I went STS Remote mount turbo this summer.... install, service and reliability made it my choice. And if your looking for around 400HP..... this would be worthy of consideration for sure.

I went from Vortech to STS and so far I'm very happy with my choice. If you really only want to stay below 400 hp, it's a good way to go. But if you want to drop down some more money from the start, with an expectation of building your motor later, the Powerlab kit seems like a good way to go. However, for that kind of money, you might just want to go with twins.

well if you only want 400 hp, then the turbonetics ST is prefect and apparently there are a few for cheap on the forums

happy now Cass

Much Happier ..... Thanks

In all seriousness, I loved having my TN Single kit. It made my car seem much faster than stock and it was certainly a blast to drive with all the extra torque. If I did not live in the Mid-A where there are so many high HP Z's & G's, I'm not sure I would be doing the big build.

I would do the Powerlab. Its the best bang for the buck and is capable of a lot of power if you ever want to build your motor.

STS. Plenty of power from the basic kit, and plenty of room to make bigger power.
