that would be an impressive leak if that were the case!!! cylinder 3 is in the passenger bank of the motor. cylinder 2 is on the drivers side bank.

I did the leakdown on a hot motor. I brought it up to temp and within 20 min had my first leakdown #. I don't think 18% is particualrly bad, but it is causing my crankacse issue and causing oil to leak like crazy from the turbo's.

I am selling the car as/is right now. If I get a buyer well that's great. If not then I will rebuild the motor. I will be doing everything myself. I have accesss to a lift now whenever I want to use it. That was always why I sent my car to shops was because I did not have the fascillities to do it myself. But now I can do all the labor myself, and have a highly respected engine builder here in the area who is interested in builing the new motor.

I really have my heart set on a Radical SR4. Designed to haul *** all out all the time. Simple car with few problems and will drive circles around any road car. It's also street legal. Why invest more money in a Z that can't come close to Radical's performance ever for about the same price.

larry sorry to hear...i guess there is a slight chance that you will keep and rebuild engine...you've simply had bad luck with it, but hope all that changes this year.

yes, perhaps a bit too optimistic... kind of sad when you're hoping it's just a burned out headgasket.

Sorry to hear all your problems, and would hate to see you leave the Z/G platform. But can't blame you for wanting to do so with all the problems you seem to always run into. Good luck with the future plans. That radical is really street legal? Would love to hear the explanation to a cop if you ever accidentally drove it on the street..

The SR5 has VTEC, get that..

so granted that the motor and the turbos both need rebuilds, how much are you going to try to get for the car?

The turbo's likely won't need a rebuild. I spoke to Forced Performance and Rob stated that as soon as the pressure issue is rectified the seals won't be an issue anymore. The new owner should have them inspected. As the car is now I am asking $35,000. If it doesn't get any interest I will pull the engine and have it rebuilt and the turbo's inspected and if needed rebuilt. Then the car would be for sale for $45,000. If it doesn't sell then I will part out the car.

Larry have you been test fitted for a Radical? They are tiny, and you are a pretty big dude. Just making sure.

Yeah I fit in the SR4. It is wider than the others and comfortably accomodates 2. My shoulders are still a tight fit. I went to Radical here in FL and tried the SR4 on for size. Now I know why all race car drivers look like you and Thomas Hamilton!

Cut his finger really bad, and the fuel drum fractured his finger from the tip all the way to the knuckle. It was nasty...but he is all patched up now after a few hours in the ER.

Thank you for asking.

I tried to sit in SHarif's Z at his shop. I think I could only wedge 1 *** cheek into that tiny racing seat.

The motor is comming out this week and will be going to a very reputable machine shop here in FL to be torn down, inspected, and rebuilt. So the car will be for sale with a fresh motor!
