Slow power drain...result of aftermarket parts?
Optimas are horrible batteries. We get returns on them at my store left and right.
Much cheaper at Amazon.com... $39.95

I just got one today. Haven't used it yet.

does noone see a huge common factor here??? I too when installing the utec had the battery problem. I took out the utec and bingo fixed it!! I have emailed turboxs to try to figure out what if anything could cause this but this is a WIDESPREAD problem. It may be faulty capacitors or something that can be fixed but as for my issue it was the UTEC!!!
I, too, have a UTEC and constant battery issues. I'm on my THIRD Optima Red Top (I agree, a terrible battery). I bought the Optima thinking it would be more robust then the stock battery - in reality once the red top is dead it doesn't hold near the charge the stock battery would.
The other thing to remember is if you arn't driving the car for 30 minutes when you do drive it you arn't topping the battery off.
I have a trickle charger and a harness installed so I just pop my hood and plug it in. I made a DIY on here years ago when I did it.

With my trickle charger my car starts every time. The only drawback is I have to remember to plug it in!
