I can't wait to see this thing complete!

I understand the benefits of a single large turbo, but if a single large turbo will not fit, how about going with two smaller turbos? Perhaps they will be easier to fit.

Ahh, must of missed this one. Im using the Hinson mounting kit with the CF driveshaft option.(same one NOAH used)....I will post pics of progess when I make some..right now im in the collection of parts stage. Hinson quoted me about a month out for the oil pan and mounting parts..and I wont know if im going FI until the motors in the car and I see what kind of room im got.

Im very partial to turbos and the big lag...the supercharger will have too much down low for what im looking for.

We built a Firehawk with a 6.0 iron block this past season, and made a single turbo kit with it using the truck manifolds facing forward. We used a Precision 78gts and lets just say the car is SICK!!! at 17.5 psi it goes 9.25@148 all day long!!
I forsee you having a tight fit up front if you place it in front of the motor and the pte88 is likely to surge, I'd recommend the 78 for your setup, you'll make plenty of power and it will spool instantly on the LS motor.

Also, if you plan on making some good boost I suggest using L19 head studs and cometic phuzion (o-ring) head gaskets. These motors at bigger boost have a tendency to lift the heads a tick. We've started using L19's and those head gaskets and problem solved.

We're Precision Turbos 4th largest reseller in the US. Let me know if we can help you with your turbo selection.

If you need any help just let me know. Here are a couple pics of the one we built.

This should keep you motivated take a listen

Good luck, sounds like you should have a wicked setup!

you can stuff an 88 in the package of the 78gts, so they would be the same size.

alright. looking at the trans am you did..thats almost exactly how I want to do my setup. I bought a pair of truck manifolds and as soon as the engine is in the car im going to see what kinda room we are working with.I was thinking about doing the turbo up front like that,if theres enough room between the engine/rad.

Custom rear turbo setup should work right? I've seen GTO's and Z's with them. Engine bay space wouldn't be an issue especially if you're saying there is more room with the ls2.

ehh, Im not a fan of the rear turbo setups...im going to do everything I can to get it to fit up front...pretty much just like the setup on the TA...or maybe opposite to where the powerlab turbo sits.

does the alternator NEED to be relocated over to that side for the kit to work?

You will not have A/C using the truck manifolds unless you move it up high. We also made a custom alternator relocation kit for it since it has to be moved up as well. The problem you run into when running the truck manifolds forward.
Depending on the Hinson, or whatever sub assembly you use, you may be limited to a 3 or 3.5" downpipe since it's very tight between the frame and the block, but since it's in a Z I don't know if that will be a factor, just something to watch for.

Can't wait to see you progress!

yeah I wont be using A/C...the downpipe will be there instead. =) So the alternator down low wont go huh? hmmm I like where you put the alternator but I dont think it will fit under the tower brace..how high above the manifold does the alternator sit?

We ran a stock never-opened 350Z dif all season, and it remains in the car in one piece. Keep in mind we also ran an auto which is easier on them, and kept a built dif in the trailer just in case...
