Hi everybody... i have just orderd a Greddy TT kitt with IC.

i know NOTHING about turbos etc etc.. really nothing.

i need all the help i can get about how to do it..
thing to have in mind..
what else i need that doesent comes with the kitt.
well.. just everything.. pics are very welcomed

Read post #4 and the pdf files should help you out. If you look at a lot of the shop build threads you can find many assembly pics that may help to guide you. If needed, you could possibly make an arrangement to pay for tech time from one of the top shops and they can walk you through any difficulties in your install. Good luck with your new project.

 

If you dont have any mechanical skills dont do it yourself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I did it myself with some friends but we know our way around a garage and at times it was still a pain in the a$$ due to the tight space and us not pulling the motor. If you dont know what youre doing youre either going to mess something up or give up due to frustration. Your best bet it to take it to someone who knows what theyre doing.

thanks. i searched the forum and i read aroung a little in the "Forced Induction for Noobs" thread butt there wasnt really a step by step guide.

and i heard that i must rense the turbos with oil first.. threw where?

yes i know.. butt the problem here in little sweden is that nobody knows anything about tuning.

and i really really dont want to pay for their learning hours once again...

i did that once and it cost me 3 times more then a "real" mecanic whould take.

there is one guy that have done this once before but he lives far from me and want the car for 3 weeks...3 weeks= expencive

 

but alot of tools! especially, if you plan on doing it with the motor in the car. you'll need a wide assortment of 12 and 13mm wrenches (short, long, and ratcheting, sockets (deep and short and swivels), and extensions. Plus, don't forget the ever importnat CROW'S FOOT!!!!

 

If you do nothing else, at least put a clutch and flywheel in when you do it. The AAM 3" downpipes will make more power, but also ease the installation if you are not pulling out the motor. Plus adding some bigger injectors, engine management, and fuel pump or fuel return setup. Here are some links for ya to get started.

i was recomended a walbro 255 pump

im not going to go wild with this. only 0,4bar ( i think that is 6-7 psi)


and fuel injectors comes with the kitt..arent they good enough?



should i go with blow off valves? och should i go the "sleeper" way? are there any room for BOV´s?

 

Oh my...


Please don't attempt to install this yourself! At least take it to a shop that is somewhat familiar with working on an engine... It may be hard to find a tuner in your area, but I guarantee that there are shops that will be able to follow instructions and install this for you.
Maybe that will even let you help, or watch, so that you can learn along the way.

You will need a Walbro pump, and ditch the eManage Ultimate. Just get a UTEC and pressure sensor. Plug and play, without any wiring issues, and the UTEC offers much better control of the engine, when compared to the UTEC.

Let us know you need anything else.

 

here is your idiot proof guide to installing a TT kit on your Z:

step 1 - pay installer (shop)
step 2 - wait
step 3 - pick up car
step 4 - don't crash it

do not deviate from my 4 step plan or grave consequences befall you.

 

if your not really sure how to prime the turbos even, i would walk away from this project if i were you. if you have 6 months or so to do it, then take your time and read, read, read all the related info on the forums here!!
if your trying to do it in a weekend with limited work area and tools, you will have a TON of mistakes. the greddy kit has alot of tricks to it to make it a reliable install. some simple little things that would easily be overlooked by a novice, heck, even some pros.

Tim i have a friend that is a mecanic. but have never tuned a car of fixed with a turbo car. (what was the "oh my" about? =) )

Sharif.. why is the E ultimate so bad?? isnt it made just for this kit?


Motormouth sorry to say but that would cost me more then the kit itself and i would have to wait several weeks and im still not sure it would be propobly done.

overzealous sorry but what does prime mean? i have time more or less.. the cae have been standing for 5 months with a broken tranny anyway so. but all theese tricks to make it relaible..thats why i started this thread =)

 

The "oh my" was because you were asking if you should use blow off valves, and when told about the AAM 3" WG relocation, you replied that you already had kinetix testpipes...

To me, it sounds like you are pretty clueless about this. I think you are just asking for trouble if you choose to install this yourself. Are you comfortable with pulling the motor out of the car?
I know that it's not absolutely necessary, but there IS a reason why so many shops choose to do so.
