I agree, for something like this... hole blown in piston. The dealer should be your last option.

Well, the installer said they tuned it, I got dyno results, but no A/F #'s or print outs etc.. I asked for them before I left, but we were BSing and totally forgot to ask again. I'm still waiting on them to call me back, now I'm real pissed. My finger is pointing to them. I really really hope this can be resolved without any problems, I'm willing to bring it to them tomorrow, 300 miles away, or Saturday/Sunday to fix this problem. I don't want to have to take the supercharger off of the car, headers etc, go back to stock and ***** out Nissan, then put all of that back on the car etc.. What a headache, this is so not worth it.

A fried piston... That sounds a little like Max's car if I remember correctly.

We all learn from each other. This is everyones worst fear. Bill, I am really sorry to hear of your problem.

As I read so many threads, I see over and over again "what is the price". In situations like this, having a proven and reliable tuner is worth some extra bucks. A tuner should do it right the first time and if something goes wrong, he should back up his work.

Bill, I do not know your tuner but it is a bad sign that he asked you to get a compression check. He should be taking care of everything at this point including towing.

Thanks for everyone's help, I do appreciate it. I'm still waiting for the installer/tuners to call me back, said they will call me today. I just want to get this resolved ASAP. I don't know what we can do, or what they will do for me, that is up in the air right now until I speak with them. I know what I want out of this, that's for sure. We'll see what happens.

I think they will make right with this, I'm confident. We'll see.

I will get a pic tomorrow of it. My car is at my friends shop right now, in the garage. It's in the ghetto so we decided to lock it up tonight, don't want my rims getting stolen

Hey ravaz, MaxHax (another guy here that had the same problems that you did) wanted you to know that he ordered another engine from Nissan but it is back-ordered with the expected date round the 16th. So he can't get back on the road for another two weeks after that... just FYI.

The dealership would never believe that an NA car blew a hole in a piston. Taking false claims to thet dealer for warranty work only makes them more skeptical about warrantying peoples cars with legitamate problems.

Default Installers vs. self installed.

I have read many threads on this website and am thinking about a ATI SC. It seems to me from reading that everyone that installed the SC themselves has not had any problems but some of the people have had problems with installers. Does this make sense? What is the difference? I now feel that I would go to someone on the site that installed their own and ask for an install and avoid the installers. What are your thoughts?

I've had too many mechanics mess up with my cars to let them touch my cars again. So, I do all my own work. Unless of course I need a machine that I can't afford or rent.

The difference though? The difference is that you love your car and want to make sure everything is done perfectly, the installer just wants your cash.

ravas,

I hope you didnt have your traction control on. If you excellerated and spun the tires the TCS will lean the fuel to take away power. But if your under boost when this happens, you are in bad shape.

This might not be the case, just thinking of possibilities.

You do not want to fool a dealership and post about it online. People will track you down and rat on you. I 've seen this before. If you want to pull something like that with a dealership I suggest you not post about it online.

Here, here; TCS sucks. Always off, unless the roads are slick.

Intersting, I never thought of the possibility of leaner fuel due to TCS.

Greg, parts maneger at Mossy Nissan, told me when they track their dealer touring 350Z that even if they turn off the TCS that it goes on the first time you hit the brakes. What a drag! I assume if that is true that it does the same on the track model and if so, it is ironic to call it a track model yet restrict its performance on the track. Has anyone else experienced the TCS coming back on when you hit the brake?

Hmm, makes me happier to own my enthusist model.

I think he is speaking of the (AB)Active Braking system, that is seperate from the TCS or VCD or ABS. When your in a slide the AB system comes on as soon as you touch the brakes and will stop you from sliding. All models come with ABS and the AB system. ABS stands for anti-lock brakes for you noobs.

ABS, AB, TCS, VCD... way too many acronyms with this car.
