At home GTM install..
Good luck with the self install...im wondering are you pulling the motor.I didnt pull the motor when installing my Greddy kit and i will never install a kit with the motor in the car again.
So you did this without pulling the motor? How difficult would you say it is w/out pulling the motor? I want to do my own install and the only thing holding me back from a TT is the need to pull the motor. If I could do it without pulling I would so attempt this. My car is not my DD ... so it could be down as long as I wanted it to be

For those who have questioned if a twin turbo install is to much to do on your back, read on. I called GTM about their turn key turbo kit and talked several times with Sam about what I wanted and what I dadn't want. I ended up with the base turbos and upgraded to the external gates with the reroute kit. Sam assured me it could be done by the average car guy, so I took his word and sent the money. A week later I had 2 big boxes delivered to the house, took a deep breath and broke out the tool. This was all done in a standard 2 car garage with basic hand tools by me alone. I am not a mechanic by any means, just have general automitive knoledge. A few jack stands and I was off and running. The instructions should be titled turbos for dummies because they were full of picture and I mean full color pics clearly labled and easy to follow. It took 3.5 full days working but the end result was unbelievable. There was a few issues with the tune but it was a software issue not a tune issue. The guys at uprev talked me through the fix on the phone so a big thanks to them. I would post pics but the pics on Gtm's site are so much better. I will answer any questions anyone has. Thanks to Sam for all the help and late night calls.
Cheers,
D
I have the HR. I have heard the HR is a little easier to work on then the DE but can't say for sure cause I have never worked on a DE. I didn't find the install a pita at all. The piping has brackets made on them so it will really only fit one way and the instructions are second to none. I was actually under the car at 11 p.m one night during the install and my phone rang, it was Sam calling back to answer a question. You just can't get support like that with most shops.
GTM worked like mad to get this kit right, and we sent Jared and John out to get the software working on the HR specifically for this kit. They were there a week and things really fell right into place. So all the HR guys that are now getting Uprev tunes should seriously thank George and Sam for their help in making it happen.

It takes me 4 hours to pull a motor in my garage. I take front clip off, wiring harness, tranny and motor mounts disconnected and pull it right now. Puttin in is even easier and what i love about these new motors, you relaly cant mix up connectors and clips. Every wire has its own connection so you can mix and match. Piece of cake.
Anyone wanna see pics? Say iiiiiii!

I was over at GTM last week and one of the mechanics told me that it was easier to install the TT into a HR than it was the DE. Plus the install can be done without pulling the engine. You do need a few special tools like angled wrenches and swivels, but other than the kit is like any bolt-on mod that anyone who is mechanically inclined can accomplish.
I have seen and road in Mike's car. Talk about nice!!! It's a 07 silver 350z with silver GTS Volks to match. The car ran 11.8 at the track, for someone to do there own work and run a great times at the track is rare. Once again congrats!!
I guess I have a bad habit of not checking my own posts. Car is still up and runnimg great. I haven't turned a wrench on it since the install except to change the oil. I take the car out on weekends and have a little fun every now and then but thats about it. It never sees easy miles, if I'm in the car its getting beat on. I am planning a built motor and stage 2 turbos for first of the year. I want a minimum of 600whp. I will try to update my own threads a little more often.
