ya I'd be interested to know how you can determine if both the master and slave need replacing or just the slave. There are many threads about slave replacement but not many people do the master.
I'm sure he's slammed with cars that wanna be done by the holidays so I dont expect him to get on the webs much.

We have replaced our share of both masters and slaves. There is no easy way to determine which one is bad. Because the system will need to be purged I just take the safe approach and replace both. They are fairly inexpensive parts. But overall I have seen more leaky or physically defective slaves.

thanks, we'll if i still have probs getting into 1st and reverse from a stop, i'll do the master cylinder next.
The master cylinder is ~100$ compared to the ~35$ slave. but ya, just another drop in the bucket. I spent 15$ in just 10.9 bolts to finish up these axles.
