My roommate was driving. Vacuum seemed fine when I drove it home. Boost was a little low. I suspected a leak. Going through the car today.

Dear god, you let your roommate drive your car like that? What a bunch of morons "Hey, his car don't sound right!" and he just kept on going.

In his defense.. it's his car and his money.

On another note.. did anyone see the spark from his driver's front wheel last 3 seconds of the clip?

Like everyone else said sounds like a leaky coupling.. boost leak?

Certainly sounds like a boost leak to me - but you should keep driving it to be sure

Maybe the red glowing is caused from a pair of cylinders not firing and dumping gas into the exhaust system, in which it is burning up in the exhaust cause it to heat up and glow red hot.

This is why you should have to pass an IQ test before you can buy an FI system.

If you can't work on it don't put it on your car.

I installed it. Put the whole car together. The glowing is the high flow cats. They got insanely hot.

Yeah, it sounds like you have a pair of cylinders not firing. Thus that unburned gas is dumping into the cats and just burning in there.

Happened to me in my 3000gt when my CAS (crank angle sensor) went bad and caused my timing to jump. All of that cause 3&6 and not to fire and the extra gas burnt my cats to a crisp (they were GLOWING red). It made the same sound you car is making as well. But I wasn't able to make nearly as much power as your car is making. In fact it was damn near impossible to drive about 35-40 mph I lost so much power. But I wasn't TT either, so.....

Thanks guys. Pulling the motor this weekend. Plan to heat wrap and ceramic coat headers. And also look into this problem....

I really do appreciate the help. I am fairly mechanically competant but I just dont have the F.I. experience. A few of you think that in order to have a boosted car one should already know what this stuff sounds like. I guess that's how I get experience and knowledge....?

Anyway, for those of you who answered me, I do appreciate it.

Dude I'd pressure test your plumbing before pulling the motor.. prob just a leak.. No need to go all out pulling the motor.. but by all means if you're done for it.. do it

I've been looking for a reason to pull it for sometime. I may take this opportunity to get a built block, maybe just do some small mods. But I've been wanting to for a while. Found the motivation... lol

Dam, I wouldnt move my car 10 feet if it sounded like that.

Props to the CSI guys that caught that glow, I saw nothing.

It does sound like a boost leak, better mod it some more just to make sure.

"I've been looking for a reason to pull it for sometime" lmao pull away, nobody's looking.

You can always tell the guys with the stock diffs, so easy to drift around like you know what your doing ha ha

Do not drive that car until you address the current problems.. seriously
