Thanks man! I like to push the limits with cars that the owners like to do so, that way we can learn and respect those limits on cars that want to be safe and run forever.

Can you explain this a little more? Did you upgrade your exhaust?

Im sure Mike just set it up safe until he could quickly return and take the complete stock exhaust off the car for the retune. I dont know about the rev limiter but i can ask Mike. The boost level at 11 psi sounds perfectly fine to me through a stock exhaust. We fought with a car at PF that wanted to retain the stock exhaust until we just finally insisted that he open up the exhaust path a little more. Since the car sat in the back of the shop here for over a year, i think that they were happy to get the bill taken care of as fast as possible and get the OP on his way.

I had 2.5" exhaust for the vortech. However for some reason they said they couldn't make power over 4800rpms b/c of the exhaust. Like I said though this wasn't mentioned UNTIL I arrived at the shop the day i was picking the car up. Yet the car was being built for 6 months or so in the shop..... not a word earlier. At the time when I arrived my I planned on bringing enough$$$ to get back home and any small emergency. It was a 13 hr drive. But I had to pay for a last minute boost controller they forgot to install/ + labor to install it . Plus for some odd reason when i take the car for a test drive my shifter handle snapped in half so i had to pay to re-weld that. also when i shipped my car there my V2 bumper was mint and when i came to pick it up I had small cracks in it and 2 giant gashes into it as if it was ran into a curb or metal beam. but nobody knows what happened?

edit - Car was there for 6 to 8 months max.... motor blew in the summer and i picked it up in Jan. I also provided proof I was a victim of identity theft and had several thousands taken from my bank account via fraud. took several months to get it back.

My car through stock Y-pipe, mid-pipe, and muffler still made 14psi of boost (450rwhp).....Granted it was SUPER restrictive. After removing the Exhaust boost jumped to 24+psi without touching the boost controller (AEM tru-boost....larry let off fast lol).

So don't know if those turbos (jwt 700s) just couldn't push through the restriction or what.

Obviously we changed my exhaust lol....that was just for the motor break in

but no reason it cannot rev normally with a decent tune. I wonder if Jeremy can pull up Mike's tune profile in their comp and check it out, since he is working blind I feel right now (it doesn't seem he was there when any of this actually occurred)?

Right, thanks. This was way before my time. I can ask Mike to see the tune and see where the rev limit was. Not a problem.

So you had an upgraded 2.5" dual or single exhaust on the car at AAM? and SP made great power with the same exhaust? Just trying to clarify...

well sounds like these are things the op should have figured out before hand, and there are always more than one story, so who knows what happened..I don't see any problem with locking a tune as it is safety for the shop who tuned so it cannot be altered and blamed back on them when something happens, and why would another tuner need the code when they can just clear it and start over with their own base map ?...don't really see what the problems was with aam they were just sticking to their policy like any shop would...if they break it for one they must break it for all, sp obviously didn't need the code to do their work as it is done now...seems like it was directed to start drama that wasn't really needed..

p.s. congrats on the crazy numbers sp i have seen the vids up...
