Here's a pic of my new motor mounts. They are made out of 304 Stainless and then TIG welded. I used the same size studs as Nissan so that the factory nuts can be reused on these mounts. (still not sure why nissan uses a 10mm stud on one end and a 12mm stud on the other.
)
Using these mounts will cut just over 5 pounds off the car.....I know that's not a lot, but every little pound helps out. Hopefully, I'llget around to installing these soon......Installation should be a PITA since I already have a greddy twin kit installed. That outta make getting access to the top 10mm nut very difficult.

I couldn't find stainless studs in the right thread size. the M12 x 1.25 isn't a very common size. Plus, stainless is fairly soft and can't take as much torque as a GRade 8 fastener before going into plastic deformation. Stainless isn't an ideal fastener for taking a high tensile load. these don't take that much torque (about 75 ft-lbs or so) but I'd rather be safe. I used wheel studs....definately designed to take some torquing (or overtorquing!)
Looks good Quad!!! I agree that solid mounts in a Z aren't that bad. I have been running them for two years now with a light weight flywheel and I love them!!!
Those are some nice quality!!!

I need to get something line this soon... I think it will aid me with more clearance for piping my new turbos... I just need to research and find out if there is any reason I wouldn't want them for a build like mine
would these be as good as the one that QUADCAM has??

The one thing I have too say about the stud design is that it makes putting the motor in and taking it out a PITA. I remember the first time I put the motor in with the stock mounts it took me forever. Now, since I am using a bolt design, I can just remove the bolt and pull the mounts out with a lift supporting the engine via a strap. No tugging or pulling other than some simple pivoting to get over the powersteering line under the motor.
Obviously the stud design has multiple advantages over the bolt design and looks cleaner as a product IMO.
Your gonna love them Quad!! I would say that out of all the mods I have done N/A, solid mounts had the largest impact on driving enjoyment for me. Not to mention the helped me keep tight clearances on all the stock in my engine bay. Otherwise my supercharger would torque right into my radiator

well...I went to install them and I got to the driver's sdie unit first. the greddy kit really get in the way for getting access to the upper nut on the factory mount.
As such, I had to use several extensions and swivels to gain access to it. according the FSM, there should only be about 50 ft-lbs of toque on that nut. HA!!!!! that biotch is on there!!!!! needless to say, I used my impact gun to remove it. Unfortunately the socket wasn't seeatewd properly when I pulled the trigger.........
I rounded off the head on the nut completely!!! totally sux. I put the car back together and have since picked up some special sockets for rounded off bolts/nuts. Hopefully, they work. if not, I'll have to pull the motor to get to the motor mount.......and I am not planning on pulling the motor right now!
I'll post up later this week if I can get to this job and I'l take some pics.

I could see solid mounts being annoying on a 4-cylinder since there is less cylinders firing per rev. We put solid mounts in our Porsche 928 V8 and there was no difference in vibration at all.
