The walbro in-tank install is fairly easy to do DIY...phunk has a great DIY for it on the forums...
yeah i hear ya...i was just kinda wondering if i could stick with some of the things i have instead of ditching them with that osiris and if osiris could control the fmu and inline pump...im gonna have to look into it more....yeah the intank install is nothing guess im gonna have to start making some calls

I would so go with the orsiris over pretty much any other EMS out there for the vortech because of how elegant it is and how well it does the job, but I have no idea if it can control the inline fuel pump...my hunch is it can't, so it'd probably be better for people with larger injectors, walbro, and return fuel system

I have to rebute myself in this thread. I had always wanted the TN because of the low end torque. However when searching stock build dyno charts I started seeing HP and TQ numbers fairly even until around 4K rpm between the Vortech and TN. It looks to me like the TN only has the advantage from around 4K until around 6K.

that's true

Though people should consider how often you see TN people go above 8 psi vs how many vortech people go above 8 psi, especially with a stock engine.

IMO the bone stock vortech kit with the stock pulley will lose to just about every FI setup out there, except maybe stillen stage 1 or 2.
It's still going to depend on the car and tire setup. An 8psi TN car will need better traction to make any use of the tq in 1st and 2nd gear than an 8 psi vortech

I always thought the TN kit had stronger power below around 4500 rpms than similar spec'd vortech cars, but were about even above that

driver wins that race, and who runs 8psi????????? especailly vortech guys....yeah the turbonetics has the bottom end, but i guarantee the vortech has more above 4500 rpm with just 3.12 pulley added to a complete vortech kit...id race a turbonetics 8psi z anyday with my current setup..i beleive it would come down to driver from a dig and i beleive i would pull a turbonetics 8psi car from a roll...who knows though im like the only z in my area...let alone to find a turbo one to mess around with

Here are the dyno charts I was making reference to at the time. Everything almost lines up until 4500 were the TN takes over.

TN

Vortech

That's crazy. I just commented in there at pretty much the same time you posted here. I think my mind may be swaying here from my recent research.

Here's a chart I just fixed up using those two graphs. Like I saw in the other two, they're neck and neck until around 4k were the TN takes over.

turbo's got the torque hands down, but is it usable on the street? cause i know my 300ft. lbs. at 4000 rpm is useless in the lower gears...vortech seams to be great at mid and top end power and pretty safe, once the pulleys start dropping seems to give soem good power and with the 2.87 torque is higher and starts hard at like 3700 rpm

In the chart I typed up they're both from the dyno at Injected.

IMO that looks like a pretty strong TN car vs a 3.12 pulley vortech that are on the same dynodynamics dyno there.

I have a ton of dynos I can pull out that I've kept over the years organized by specific shops. From what I've seen, the TN starts losing steam up high, and the vortech can catch up to it

IMO the results in first gear will be almost negligible between the two since you go through 1st so fast, you hardly have time for the TN to spool up early.

Look at the drag racing times in the drag race forum....the vortech and TN can be fairly well matched in the hands of a good driver.

I'd run you from a dig, a roll, and at the track. Too bad you're up there
