8whp is 8whp, and still not even 350whp...and u thought u would chime into this thread and give me ****, what did u get out of it ..alot of **** for not knowing what u are talking about...stillen is not worth the money when there are other options that outperform it..like i said before might as well go n/a if u are considering any stillen kits that are stage 1 or 2 especially...and like i said not interesting enough until stage 3..its just not worth it, why don't u take the advice from previous owners or owners at the time saying how it just isn't great
It's like roid rage or something!!!

Why are Stillen haters so damn angry all the time!! It's like you guys can't wait for a chance to tell your "horror stories" about your Stillen SC. The funny thing is half the time the people flipping out about it haven't even owned one!!!

ive never owned a stillen...why would i want to...im sure u know it wasn't a great choice, thats all im saying, if choosing a supercharger kit, stillen is absolutely not the way to go, and if need be don't go with anything less than stage 4 stillen, because thats really all that compares to the other kits out of the box ..

+1
To answer your question, the Stillen stage 1-3 kit makes no noise when idling.
Stage 4 makes just a littke bit of whine and it's pretty much only when the AC is on.
And as said before, if you do decide to go the Stillen route, go straight to stage 4. I didn't listen and spent way more money by upgrading one stage at a time!!

I wasn't disagreeing with you in the quote this comment refers to, thus the reason i +1'd you.
I was refering to the amount of people that blow up when someone even suggests buying a Stillen setup. It's as if they are getting commission to bash, or the name causes them to have some sort of Vietnam flashback.
I'm very happy with my setup. I don't know anything other then Stillen since next to no one here is FI.
And yes......stage 1-3 are garbage!!! I had to get to stage 4 before i realized it, and by then the money was already gone!!

i think it all depends on what youre looking for
for me, the Stillen or the HKS are the only superchargers I would go for
i dont race/drag/etc so im not looking for peak numbers
HOWEVER, low to mid range power the stillen/hks usually has the vortech beat unless your vortech is pushing out HUGE numbers (for a vortech i mean)
a vortech making peak numbers of 380whp would have about 200whp at 4k RPM
whereas a stillen/hks with peak number of 340whp could have about 250whp at 4k

ah i re-read and ur saying whp so my bad i thought u were saying torque...so wheres a stillen graph to compare the two, find one so it can be done...i don't see how it would even compare...

Sounds like you are looking for what i was looking for when i got mine. I never have dynoed my Stillen, i honestly don't care because i'm not out for #s. I enjoy the neck snapping torque from a dig, and the sound. That's enough for me. In addition i have seen zero drop in gas miliage over stock, and it's extremely streetable if used for a daily driver. Plus it uses an Eaton blower which is extremely robust, has a long history of quality, and is self lubricated (No external oil lines to tap).
Remember though, you will have to either buy their hood, or cut a hole in your existing hood if you go the Stillen route.
