Jewelry and clothes are expensive in FRANCE, trust me. That is only the beginning- Ha! So, have fun anyways

Right on point with this there is nothing better than girl or wife in my case to support you.Its a good thing when it goes both ways.As long as you have your priority's in check.I plan on going FI and my wife doest have a problem with it.

I hear you and Alberto, but after 15 yrs of marriage, I don't think re-evaluation is necessary. Besides, the $3K credit card bill I pay every month should keep her quiet (I pay cash for everything = no paper trail) .

My gf of just over 3 years loves cars. I did my own install and labor, and she ran and bought parts for me late at night or early in the morning when I needed them. She even jumped in when I couldnt get my hands in some tight places. She almost bought a vette a couple of months ago so no complaints on my end.

So I got 4 weekends all to myself for the install at my shop, BUT the catch was I had to show her how to drive it when I finished. Not bad considering she only drives it when i'm in the car, and two I taught her to drive stick, so her messup is my messup so to say. Plus she loves beating our friends when driving.

Never thought about a new set of ***** though... reconsidering the agreement now with her lol.

Mines cool with it cause she knows its what i like/do. She comes from a family back in trinidad that all her guy cousins/uncles drive RX-7's R33/4's Supra's, Sylvia's and all they do is race/mod/etc.... so shes use to it..lol Most she gets concerned about it is that im upfront about it and dont hide what i buy or plan to do... But to be fair her car cost way more then my Z and mods.lol.lol.lol.... Price you pay.. It balances out..

Had a GF when the FI project began.......didn't have one when it finished lol......actually car had nothing to do with it, but I'm sure it would have added to the final result if the car were done sooner.

My wife is really starting to enjoy the Z. I took her to the Jtuned Auto Gallery and she watched the Drift competition and she said she realized why I'm so into the car stuff. As long as I include her she is cool with it.

Going FI always gets thrown in my face as a trip we could've taken.

I retaliate by converting my FI investment to her shoe collection equivalent.......end of discussion.

Im not a bich but when it comes to cars, i tell her everything i do cuz i want her to learn. My dream is to have a hot chick that knows her cars. Im half way there. And she doesnt mind it either and shes happy im so passionate about it. She just wants me to stop racing cuz shes scared im gonna kill myself.

Do you just need to make her hot now?

Just kidding.

Some of you are gonna get in trouble if your wives see this . Bottom line, there's some great advice in here.

I like the idea of 50/50.....and then I really like the idea of incorporating your significant other with what we do. I mean isn't that the dream of every man....to not have someone who whines every time we go out and do something?

I also agree if she's complaining and giving you hell before you get serious, that could be a red flag.

Right now I'm trying to bring my girl on board by telling her I have a fund setup for the things I want to do. When it matures, that's when I can have fun.

I also tell her I plan on having it pay off for me somehow once its all said and done with. So far so good! Just hope this doesn't change when I cross the FI bridge

LOL.

I'm going to be in a little different of a situation coming up. My gf's is on target to get her salary doubled. (If that means a little extracurricular with the boss then so be it.) J/k. But we decided if her salary really does get doubled, then first we'll pay off her new-to-her 2003 VW turbo beetle which she just put an intake on, sounds surprisingly mean! After her car is paid off, (about 5 months after raise) we decided she would turbo my Z. We'll see what happens lol. I could have myself a sugar-mama that is my age haha. Fingers crossed

Be honest and upfront is all you can do. If they have issues after the fact and don't get over them then re-evaluate. The only thing my wife had an issue about is that I hid the plans until the last minute. She felt left out, thats pretty much all. I still got her some new ***** though. At least we can both enjoy those (she's scared of the G now and won't drive it anymore LOL). She does enjoy riding in it though and loves the new blowing and sucking sounds it makes haha.
