Default bad vortechs

Do you guys know which vortech blowers got the bad bearings? Is there a serial number range ?? Or maybe I should call vortech. I'll post if I find out.

thanks man, good thread. it mentions the date of production (May, June, and July of 2007). I was also wondering if there was a serial range.

Thanks again

after talking w/ the tech support, it seems the vortechs w/ serials numbers starting from 41-47ish might have some of the units w/ the bad bearing.

hope this helps

I dont trust them, I have my blower sent in prior to installation, everything was good up until I went with the 2.87. That terrible noise arrived, Forged sent in the blower, I was thinking it was still under warranty, being I only logged maybe 2500 miles IN A YEAR! Wrong, I had to shiet out an additional $700 to have my bearing changed! I would take caution if purchasing a V2 unit, go with the V3, I understand they dont have the bearing issues!

^^ interesting. so your serial number did not fall between 41-47? do you think the extra rpm on the v2 from 2.87 did it in, or you think the bearings were bad from the beginning?

I not sure on the SN, will get that tomorrow, but I do think the bearing were bad, or wore out way quicker than normal!
