Question Greddy Twin Turbo on Stock exhaust?

I live in cali..... So im doing my best to avoid smog ref tickets and i bought the car turboed. Im taking off my perfect sounding exhaust and going stock to avoid attention from the looks mainly. Is anyone here running stock exhaust? Have sound clips? Im not worried about power loss, and im still looking for a nismo S tune to pick up used as my final exhaust choice.

Anyone running stock exhaust with no problems? Will i have to do anything with the greddy e manage or is just resetting the ecu sufficient?

Its a shame but im actually paying a pretty penny to "stealth" my turbo install since it passes smog no problem. Should be very interesting to see the finished product

Why not just get HFC's and resonators? I have a TT with true dual exhaust and it looks stock and is no louder than stock AT ALL. There's no reason to go to a stock exhaust just to make it look and sound stock, especially if you're 'spending a ton of money' doing so...

I ran stock exhaust from Y-pipe back during my motor break in. It was done on purpose so I wouldn't destroy the new motor.

Well when we changed the exhaust we did not touch the boost controller. I have the AEM tru boost where you set the controller to a %of duty cycle of the solenoid, not to a specific boost.....well the setting it was at with stock Y-pipe, midpipe, muffler it made 12psi of boost......going to the new exhaust boost jumped to 24psi (and thats where we let off immediately as not to blow shizzle up......

Stock exhaust is CRAZY restrictive.....its literally like a 1.75in diameter pipe going back.

BTW... I still have the "stock" muffler on now and I made ok power

Yeah, if you must get a stock looking exhaust, get the APS 2.5" exhaust. It flows decent and won't attract unwanted attention.

I say "stock muffler"

Do it right and it'll flow well. And it is nice and quiet during normal driving....guess I'm getting old cause I like that lol. Can actually use phone and whatnot in car.

Hmmm what do you mean by doing it right? Even if i make custom piping 2.5" to the muffler wouldnt it still bottle neck at the muffler and defeat the purpose? I dont know much about exhaust fabrication.

And you have open wastegate dumps.

I still think the APS 2.5" exhaust is a simpler option that better suits the OP's needs to attempt to stay under the communist radar in Cali. And it flows fine for cars that are sub 500whp.

I don't recall off top of my head right now. SP did it. Can get them to chime in on how long it took.

Maybe you guys aren't understanding... The APS 2.5" exhaust has an OEM style single muffler that looks stock.

There are a few others too that look stock, AAM, Stillin, GTM, ect. It's not hard to do.. No reason to use an OEM muffler and lose so much power.

Lose power??

like I said, do it right and you are fine with OEM muffler but modified.

And not to pat myself of the back bu I am still like number 5 or 6 on the VQ power board and thats through the "OEM" muffler
