... and big thanks to Greg of Injected Performance for making this a reality. I can vouch for him working - caught it on video! You guys want me to post up the vid of your green monster on the dyno, or you guys want to save that for later? Lemme know!

It looked like the #s were right on from Sharif's dyno - only a tad bit higher. And please excusing the joking around at Paul's expense - the 18 afr was on decel - no worries! Looking good Paul!
Thanks for the video Raj,... Now all we need is a video of Joe's "corn fed" +600whp science experiment and we'll have the triple play

Looking forward to seeing everyone next year. Thanks again to Injected for sponsoring the dyno event, good stuff. I think at one point there must have been 100 people standing around watching and waiting for the green monster to break 1000whp

Thanks again to everyone who stopped by the dyno setup and the shelter in front of the rec hall. We all had a great time and it looked like everyone else was enjoying themselves just as much.

The drag car was on low boost and only put down 964whp. Someone guessed within 9hp of that and took home $44 from our spur of the moment raffle. There should be videos showing up soon for those runs Even if you weren't down by the General Store when it was going on, everyone at Fontana Village certainly heard it!

And here we have our winner jkenefic, posted with permission from the Mad Scientist himself, Monster of the Midwest (otherwise known as Turbo Joe?) with his corn fed beastly yellow Z:

Sorry I missed the trophy presentation - hopefully pics will be posted! Congrats Joe.

EDIT: Please note Greg working on the IP Green Monster.

we should put a list together of setup (and boost and fuel) vs hp.

would be a good oportunity to show what different setups do on same dyno same day.

too bad I couldn't make it.....my last chance I think to be considered a "big dog". I know of about 10 setups coming this year that'll park me on the trailer lol.

Not bad for 18 psi. Joe didn't really feel the need to push it. I'm sure he'd rather test the limits of the stock HR headgasket closer to home!

As soon as Hal and the rest of the guys can catch a breath, we will certainly put together a listing of the various setups and what they put down That's definitely something that can be put to good use for everyone in the community.

C'mon Joe
18psi is still pump gas territory!!!!!!! on E85 you can easily do 22psi (prolly 25psi).

Joe have you gone to twin pumps now since switching over to E85?

No that is understandable and great for 18 psi. I am just saying that we need the Z community to start catching up with the other imports. 650 HP winning a dyno competition in this day and age...... well.... you know!!

^But consider that ZDAYZ is mainly composed of NA Z's so there wasnt a lot of high HP cars there to begin with.

On a side note, I wonder why Randy (the guy with the white 300ZX) didn't sign up for the dyno? He just got competed on Pinks and pushes like 850whp.

Thanks for posting the video Raj!!

I am happy with the power of the car for now. I know there is more left in it, but like some of my people have already said... There was no need to push the car hundereds of miles from home since that was all I needed to put down for a convincing victory.

I am still running the motor with the OEM HR head bolts, and I am not willing to push the limits of their clamping force until later this year. I am sure at some point they will allow the heads to lift. I will be playing with that at the end of the season when it doesnt matter if I have to pull the engine. It is more than enough power for a street car and until I have a means to put all of this power to the ground there is no need to add more power at this point. I should have switched to E85 a long time ago!!

Thanks again to the Injected Team! They were extremely professional and took the up most care with my car while they had it on the dyno.

Next year I know it will take way more than this to win the dyno shoot out, and I will be ready to be competitive

Not everyone wants a drag car. Not bad for driving 500 miles to the event, laying down 650whp on the Dyno Dynamics at high elevation, and driving home, tune untouched.

Next year, you guys can come down, and ****** the trophy from Joe.

I am on the twins with 1200cc injectors and all new custom lines. There is still enough room to turn it up as the duty cycles are still pretty low

I will be posting a new thread with all of the changes for this year in a couple of days...

+1000

Big numbers are sexy and fun to brag about, but at the end of the day there are very few of us out there that are actually going be able to use 800+hp. SP, Injected, XKR, and maybe a hand full more.

I want to keep the car as an all around solid car that can do multiple types of racing well. I am a hosepower addict as much as the next guy, but for this car this is pretty good for now

I don't think they would be eligible unless injected car was, which makes the whole event different, and should include more shops.... Also i agree with you, not everybody wants a car more suited for drag, but that statement kind goes against the whole point of a dyno shootout, or a straighline event like at the air strip . And i think Larry's point is that we need stop to living in 2005 when 600whp was OMG, but rather move up put down power like supras, R33, R34s,silvias ,is, etc have done.

Maybe i missed the point that this was more of a happy get together for fun than competition, and i also want to add that i this isnt to knock down the event AT ALL, its an excellent 1st step to making Zdayz a better event, but the question is how competitive do you want it.

I am sure for all the effort Greg/Hal put to move their dyno they would prefer that next time, even higher whp cars show up, and that you have more competition, and have a shoot out like the ones hes been part of liw/ supra world. Maybe next event better setup some categories/classes. that should fix the issue

edit.. lol put a lot of smilies, hoping you guys dont get wrong idea with what i said , but just in case i have flame suit on
