Building up the 350z TT setup
So here's the deal. I recently sold my 2006 Mustang GT in favor of buying a 350z. They are a much better built car and get better gas mileage. Now onto the fun part:
I'm looking to get my 350z blown, preferably with a turbo set up. My horsepower desires on the car is getting 380 rwhp for daily driving and have the potential of dialing it up to around 500rwhp with higher boost. Combined with my mechanic friends I intend to install the kit on my own time though I'm going to have it professionally tuned. So here's where I need some help. What would you recommend doing to achieve my goal of 380rwhp/500rwhp SAFELY. I'm guessing there would have to be some replacements on the internals of the engine but specifically I'm looking for all the brand name parts (intercooler, piping, head gaskets, bigger injectors, fuel pump, boost controller, gauges, etc...) and their costs needed for this build. Also why one brand over another. The MOST important part of this build is going to be the fact that it needs to be really reliable.
Okay and on a side note. I've had a heated racing rival and last we raced my modded Mustang took his down by about 7 car lengths. His car is cammed, 4.10 gears, full exhaust set up, 305mm rear wheels with premium tires, ram air intake, full suspension set up, and running on a high end 93 octane tune He's now adding a Kenne Bell Supercharger on there and I'm intent on putting another 7 car lengths on him...again even if he's blowing his car too.
I've gone on a few other forums but you guys clearly seem like you know your stuff. I'm also wondering what all I'd need to do for the transmission to hold up to 600+hp

Hi,
My name is Stephen fom Montreal,Canada.
I just bought a Greddy kit TT 2007 Roadster 350Z automatic.
My problem is: I drove my car only since 1 week with 10psi.boost and I broke my transmission few days ago. (It was the original transmission)
I do not know what to do between manual conversions or install Transgo kit transmission?
Do someone know if Transgo-kit transmission will work properly on it?
Your comment will be very appreciate.
Thank you.

stock auto's are relatively weak in certain areas...you will need a valvebody upgrade no matter what on a auto.
6spd.......well with, SP put 1250rwhp through what is considered the weaker of the 6spds revisions (008, the 009 is "better") and has run it at the track a lot.
lots of us have put lots of power through the 6 spd without too many issues. Briguy found a potential weakness in 3rd gear....Alberto show'd up what manly shifting can do.
For your power goals, the 6spd trans isn't an issue

Tom is right. Do it right the first time out the gate.... If you're FI with 5AT, the vb upgrade is a must. I'd even go as far to say a tranny cooler and torque converter are other important things to consider.
I'm also 5AT and am preparing to add these items to my build.
We might as well do it right if we're going FI with our cars. Don't just take my word for it....Search!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey man apparently your new to here and probably forums in general. Just begin by using the search function at the top. Try at first searching for "automatic" or "5AT" and I'm sure you will find lots and lots of information. Even if you don't find alot of info then just make a new thread about it and ask.
To the OP. Forget you owned a Mustang. These cars are built completely different. You have to begin alot of searching. Also when you make posts on my350z.com try to refrain from mentioning a race with a buddy. It only makes you look young or like a benchracer. But to answer the questions, the stock trans can easily hold the power. Just need a decent clutch setup. Lastly the way it looks all TT kits can handle the power you are looking for. The APS, HKS, JWT 8750BB, Greddy, GTM, etc. All these kits can easily handle 380-600 rwhp. Even the powerlab single GT35R setup can make its way into the 500 range. All of them being great applications.
