easiest is a hwy on ramp or any merge on a 55+ mph road. You'll only get to~80 so its not much higher than 10 over and its only for a second.

I got a $180 ticket last winter. Trying to log in my Z. 4th gear pull 110mph in a 55. I think the only reason I did not go to jail is that it was Christmas night and I had my laptop open in the passenger seat with the logger running when I was explaining myself to the cop. I had straight pipes at the time and that didn't help either. He just gave me a freaking ticket, but that's better the jail time and loss of my car.

We have an industrial park with a 2 mile straight. It only has 1 shipping company off of it so we can do some awsome logs there.

Our speed limit on the interstate is 70mph so 3rd gear will put you around 80mph I think, which would only be 10 or so over the limit.

haha, funny enough. Doing logs today on the highway. Some sneaky bastard cop nailed me with radar but didn't pull me over.

Right as i hit the off button on the datalogger at 6500rpms in 3rd my radar goes instant full bars. no warning, no slight anything. He was sitting and must have just been spotting cars or something because he didn't have radar on until i was in his sites. That's the onl bad thing. My radar works awsome if they are just driving with radar.

Needless to say, i was probably doing just over 80 in a 55 but he didn't even bat an eye at me. Who knows what he was doing. I'm sure he'll remember my car from now on though. We live in a small town area and there aren't very many cops so they remember sports cars real fast when they frequent an area.

ya, it's weird here. during the day everyone flies through here. at night, mostly speed limit. I got pulled over at midnight last weekend coming home. I worked 16 hours at the hospital and was coming home. I was on criuse at just over 45 mph and it's a 45hmp speed limit. I got pulled over for doing 48mph in a 45. He asked why i was out late and i told him i work at the hospital and i just got off a 16 hour shift and now i'm driving home. I'm in scrubs so the storry adds up. He comes back and says "well, i'm just going to write you a warning but you need to slow it down" i said thanks and went about my way. wtf??@!?!

so during the day, i'm doing triple digits and he clocks me and doesn't even do **** about it. weird ****

i did the new seals and bearings 190 miles ago.. the input shaft seal.. is messed uppp!! idk why and what caused it i gotta look into it more tomorrow

Here are soem pix =(

whats left of the bearing..

and also the seal. Do you guys know where I can get this seal??? Ive looked everywhere!!!! I called vortech but they would not sell me one. This tiny piece of ****. I got the other seals from superchargersrebuild.com.. but its not as good of a seal as the stock one. The stock one looks way more heavy duty and its made out of graphite and spring to support the speed.

i would have said superchargersrebuild.com

I thought there were a few members that use them for seals and never had a problem.

Vortech doesn't sell a rebuild kit?

pic of the bearing isn't showing up. only the seal.

No, vortech doesnt.. i have nooo idea why.. its redic. I cant find the stock seal anywhere!.. I have the seal from superchargerrebuilds.com but it just isn't as good as the stock one. The output shaft seals were the same.. but input in other hand weren't.. the stock one is much more heavy duty.

here is the pic again.. hopefully it works

Superchargersonline.com

I'm using my phone, so I can not check their website if they sell or not. But I would send them an email and see if they can help you.

so the input shaft seal is different.

My guess is if they sell a 62k rpm kit that the seal should hold up. I'm going to take a stab at it and say if the bearing looks like that then the bearing probably went bad causing the shaft to wobble bad and destroy the seal.

If that is the case then the seal didn't really "fail", it was ripped apart by the big mean input shaft.

yes, it is different.

thats what I think!.. I sent some pix to my dad to take a look at it... he also thinks thats once the bearings got destroyed it, it must of hurt the seal too and then the seal went bad after the bearing. Im going to send an e-mail to todd and superchargerrebuilds.com and see what he thinks.

If anything ill get another seal which is only 35$... I just gotta find a place to find a bearing... $135+ shipping.. is a lott of a bearing. I think. idk
