piston to cylinder clearance
hi again
the work shop just inspect my cylinder block and found out that the pistons to cylinder clearance is
1- .010"
2- .015"
3- .015"
4- .015"
5- .005"
6- .009"
piston rings end gap .019" -.020" in top and second ring.
i think the guy who assembeld my engine didnt do the end gap but im not sure.
2 oil-jets are broken.
really bad luck
main and connecting bearing are realy realy bad !!! to much clearance.
i never seen somthing like this befor !!!!!!!!!!!
one of the darton sleeve has moved upward.
just like to share my bad luck with Darton sleeves

Sorry to hear that. I've seen no issues with Darton Sleeves - sleeve movement is 100% improper installation / machining.
Good luck on the rebuild!

darton should be the only one installing darton sleeves into a VQ.... IMO

^^^^ Agree x2
Although I know Injected has done Darton Sleeves with no problems, guess its just knowing how to measure and install things properly.

We've done Darton sleeves on Nissans, Hondas, domestics - even scions - all without issue. All comes down to equipment and proper installation/machining.
I know a lot of people are wary of darton sleeves, but they work great if done correctly. For street or race applications.
Small tuner - If you plan on resleeving, I suggest getting a new shortblock to sleeve.

15 thou?? Those clearnaces are terrible...
I see little reason to sleeve blocks with the current crop of bolt on turbo kits.
