HELP: Car smells funny and runs hotter than usual but doesn't over heat
So the car is running a little hot than usual. Nothing extreme and it does not over heat. My water temp used to be 170-190 during cool nights but now it's hitting 205-210 even with the cool night weathers in socal. During the day, the car would usually run 190-205 but these days it's running a little hot at about 205-210. I don't knwo what it could be. Also there is this burning smell coming from the engine bay, can't tell what it is, not the clutch, not a plastic bag, not brakes but something. what could it be? I have a vortech for 4000 miles and i've never had it running this hot. Always was warm unless i was doing extreme spirited driving. Also i have a blown ac line with a hole so maybe it could be that?
On a sidenote, how many qts of oil does the engine take with oil pan spacer? I put 5 and half. What would happen if i put too little or too much oil? Thanks

No coolant spewing out. Could the bubble "hot spot" make the car smell like it's burning something all the time or just sometimes? because mine started smelling 24/7 all of sudden.

I was going to suggest checking the fans as well, Also it cant hurt to bleed you coolant system of air.
If you have a hole in your a/c line you are not running the a/c in your car right. I was thinking maybe the a/c compressor was burning up.
I agree with mike and have some one look at it in your area.

Just bleed the coolant
also
what kind of oil did you put in? Once I had the Vortech in the best oilchange I could get was @ Nissan the regular $34.50 Just had to be sure it was every 3k. Fully synthetic fancy chit just didnt hold up and I could smell it burning after smashing also the supercharger itself was more noisy, and my oil temps would spike waay easier under load.
it is obviously something minor, Just think of what you have done recently and if anything is different that is probably why.

My car has been running hot as well...I think it's just been hotter than usual in SoCal....I used to run about 210 deg oil temp average, but now I average 220 to 230...maybe its my new blower...
And I wouldn't be surprised if that stink is from the dried refrigerant...
However...my coolant temp meter still seems to show the same level as always, a little less than halfway up...I've even run in traffic almost to 250 deg oil temp and my coolant temp is still at less than halfway up...

No, I only had the car FI for about 3000-5000 miles no way it could clog this fast. What is the "beaZt" ? Sorry i couldn't figure it out.
Also I have the AAM spacer.
So some of you are suggesting regular oil is better with vortech than synthetic? Anyone else agree?

I totally forgot...when I first had my tune I was having lean issues too...I overcompensated initially for it with 650cc injectors, but it turns out my stock cats were shot....
When I switched over to my crawfords my stocks cats were absolute junk, but it freed up a lot of power since I was running with clogged cats....
