Default Greddy oil pan or AAM spacer

I salvaged most of a Greddy 18g kit off a totaled 350Z. I guess you could say it's the ultimate tuner kit. I did not get the Greddy oil pan that comes with the kit although I have just found one for sale.

Is there an advantage to running something like the AAM oil pan spacer instead? Would an oil pan with such a spacer have lower ground cleanance?

Also.... any periodicals that you guys recommend as I try to prepare for my first voyage into aftermarket FI? Been lurking here for a year or so and YES I searched.

Thanks,

George

the bigger oil pan allows more oil and most aftermarket pans also have holes predrilled for your turbo's needs. Go for the entire pan. The spacer is good but installation requires the same amount of work but again holds less oil

lol.. yeah.. i've giving you till tommorow to grab it.. my current greddy oil pan threads are stripped and i have a universal plug on it now.. so either i'm going to retap the oil pan for 14mm or buy this used pan..

either way i'm putting on a quick oil drain valve: http://www.quickoildrainvalve.com/Pr...ductCode=F103N

ReTapping is annoying so this will come in handy.. but i will do it if i have to i guess.. good luck if you pick it up

hmm.. maybe if i buy this pan.. i re-tapp and put a quick plug on my old pan anyway and sell it.. but i'm more inclined to tap and plug a pan i don't need to put back in the car to drive to work the next day

I'm interested to see if it leaks over time. That is a cool item if it does not go bad 2 years in

Could be another wonderful thing for those of us who have stripped our threads and had to retap the hole. Great find Doug.

I'm using the Greddy, but I had the oil return ports re-tapped to a 10 AN unions.

I went with the spacer because of all the stripping problems I read about with APS and other pans. Last thing I need to deal with is a stripped drain plug.

I use a quick drain with my greddy pan works good, just drains much slower.
