For $1700 they may want a few more people, but if we've got 7 with $1700 so far, they might be willing to propose something...

$1800 shipped is the current price for 6 or more? Can you confirm?

thats what my PM from Ryan at Injected said.

Our axle prices seem so out of line compared to other cars. What makes them so special?

I'm with Mike, price is a bit steep, but if it comes down a bit, i'd consider jumping in also for this winter.

Would it make sense to go this extreme or could a sweeter deal be made on DSS 5's? Are alot of people already running DSS 5's and having problems, or just going right to the top.

Don't mean to hijack the thread but am just wondering what some people are thinking who have already gotten to this point in the game.

The 5s still use a factory inner CV housing. For less than $500 more you can have a fully upgraded inner CV housing to go along with the rest. With the pros available and these things already costing what they do, why skimp on the inner CVs just to save a few hundred bucks?

We already have 4, just need 2 more then we can decide when everyone can pay.

DSS level 5 are $1600, might as well throw in the extra $200 and know that you can 2 step the sh*t out of our cars, and launch at 22 psi with a clutch drop on slicks in confidence

does someone know what 1 year warranty means?

Does that mean if they broke at the track, we are 2k out of luck?

DId any of you guys get help on the broken level 5's? What kinda company is DSS? Still cant figure out why our pro axles are 4-800$ more than other model of cars.

Thats a HUGE amount of money to spend if they dont have some sort of guarantee/support.

i'm definitely interested

1. What is the warranty for the performance axles? : The Level 0 have no warranty against breakage. Level 2 axles have a 6 month warranty and the Level 2.9, 3, 3.9, 4, 5, and Level 5.9 have a 1 year warranty. Warranty covers broken or worn part for the term. Boots are not covered under the warranty. Customer will pay shipping to the factory and DSS will pay shipping back for warranty repairs(Ground only). For out of country sales, shipping both ways will be the responsibility of the purchaser.

2. How does the warranty work?: The warranty covers the repair of the original unit. Most companies don't cover performance products at all, but here at The Driveshaft shop we believe in our products. If you have a warranty claim do not reorder the axle and send in the old one as a defect. The claim will be repaired and you will have 2 axles.

How many times can I have an axle repaired under the warranty?: If you break an axle more than once there may be a problem. Talk to us as you may need a higher level axle. The axles are covered for the term, not by how many times you need a repair. The Driveshaft Shop does reserve the right to make a determination if the wrong axles are being used for the application, so please order the right parts.

They are that expensive because we NEED them and other applications just want them for peace of mind

LOL, but i'm I can imagine that any platform looking for pro level axles, isnt just buying them just for a piece of mind. Esp considering the budget of an average 4 banger owner Can't be broke to mess with a VQ

i know what youa re saying, but quite a few save enough jsut swapping axels for cheap...and most dont really have the power to warrant this kind of axels....either way...i wish there had been a group buy when i bought mine

It's not about power, it's about abuse level. If you EVER plan on taking your car to the dragstrip on sticky tires with F/I and want to guarantee that you won't break an axle, this is the way to go. Not to mention on the back end you could probably sell them for over 90% of what you bought them for when you are "done" with the Z.

Wish I hadn't just bought a set of Pro's a few months ago or I'd be in on this.

These are the axles in my black 6speed street 350Z that went 9.8 1/4mile. No problems.

For anyone considering these verse level 5s... The fact that you don't have to remove your old hubs, swap them, pack and seal was almost enough to sell me on the difference in price alone. This is a complete replacement, unlike the level 2 and level 5s.
