Nice work OP!

Do you think a little safety wire on the V-band clamps will help in keeping the IC couplers from being blown apart during high boost? It is a cheap fix and it is what I used to do when I worked on Aircraft. Just wanted to through in an idea to see if it would apply to your build.

I am not sure what you are refering to. IC couplers are on the intercooler piping and the V-band is on the exhaust.

With the IC piping being beed rolled, there is no chance of the couplers sliping off, even in high boost applications. The clampst are all stainless T-bolt as well, none of that cheap worm gear crap you see on every other kit.

Sorry, I meant the IC clamps. I see now the rolled edge on the IC piping. They shouldn't come off especially with your hardware choice.

good job on beadrolling the IC pipes. that will help. not to start a debate but worm clamps properly installed will hold for this kit. ive seen TT V8s use worm clamps and never have a problem. that would cut your cost some.

I just want to put the best stuff in this kit. Worm gear clamps may hold fine, but they are so easy to overtighten and strip, so the T-bolts are staying.

I am also making all the oil lines stainless steel braided. So, the lines from turbo to scavenge pump, and from scavenge pump to oil pan will all be stainless braided with -6an fittings. It will bolt right up, no messing around with worm gear clamps and cheap hoses.

Stainless steel hoses also eliminate the chance of being kinked. I had a bad experience with this and wold not want anyone else going through it. Belw my turbo seals because the line got heated up and kinked on a tigh radius bend.

This kit could be exactly what I am after. Brilliant work Boosted! Will most definitely be keeping tabs on this!

ya its called a welder. otherwise, cheapest i've seen is ~350$, and thats for 2" pipes, they get more expensive the bigger pipe you go...

boosted, things are really looking great. I am looking forward to installing this kit and seeing what this kit can do on a built motor.

I think you should talk to an admin about becoming a sponsor. If you need any help with a logo design hit me up. I am handy with automotive graphic design.

^^ hopefully you run it up to 30 psi as thats where that turbo shines. Evo's are making close to 800 on that setup, so anything less than 700's would be FAIL

I don't see why not, I just got great new on the intercoolers. They will be Treadsone FMIC's. These use the Spearco cores, and the one in the picture below will support plenty of power:

Specs:

Treadstone Intercooler features superb quality highly efficient bar and plate construction. This intercooler is 3.50" thick, and will easily support 1492 CFM's 663HP-1002HP at max efficiency 1.5psi pressure drop. 1-Year Warranty.

Overall Size 26.50" X 12.00" X 3.50"
Core Size 25.00" X 6.00" X 3.50"
3.00" Inlet/Outlet
Polished endtanks

1950 CFM's, 1300HP at max efficiency 2.0 psi pressure drop.

Core Size 25.00" X 9.00" X 3.50"

I can't wait untill MI 35th gets this mounted and Hal@IP tunes it. I am sure there will be a video.

Looks like the final price will be lower than anticipated as well.

boosted,

how come you aren't going to fab up your own intercooler end tanks? You have done everything else!!

You can see in this picture how the inlet will be routed:

The air filter will sit just under the starter.

Not sure what you mean by "map tune".

Not sure what you are refering to here, care to elaborate so I can answer the question.

I was thinking about it, I have a shear and brake at work and would be able to do it. Just don't have the time to be honest.
