i thought that the oil sumps on SP kits sat low. Your 2.5" pipe runs under the tranny in the same spot with clearance. How far is that off the ground?

If that doesnt rub on a lowered car, i doubt a sump ever would

You are studying the pictures and looking for a flaw....

You have a valid concern, it does not hang "low" but it is something I am looking in to. It will not be a problem I can tell you that for sure. People were concerned with the original setup and the turbo hanging low too. My car is lowered and I never had a problem, even going over those massive Wall Mart speed bumps.

The car is way up in the air right now so I can't really measure it. I will try to take a better picture when I have a chance.

Are you going to offer this with a turbo more suited for a stock block? What would that do to the price? Are you going to offer a tuner kit?

EDIT:

I went out and took a few pictures, that should settle it:

If I look from the front of the car towards the rear, lighning up the bottom of the front brace and rear skid plate, the crossover pipe can not be seen at all (last picture). So, there is no chance of scraping at all.

Thank you. I hope it is reflected in sales. I need to come up with a brand name/company name and maybe get on here as a sponsor.

Yes and yes. I have not decided on the turbo best suited for the stock block, if some of the turbo gurus here have any suggestions it would be apreciated. I would like to stay with the Precision line of turbos, but I know that the Garrett TO4E 60 trim (same as STS turbo) is being maxed out at 400whp on a VQ35. So, something in that range I guess.

The tuner kit will be available for $400 less than the full kit. No injectors, no fuel pump, and no EMS. The full kit does not come with the EMS to start with anyway.

If you have your injectors and fuel pump in already, it will take you one day max to get this installed. Very DIY friendly.

I think you are doing an excellent job. Just in awe how much room you have found. I just dont see it under my car but it must be there.

The kit will be in the mid $4500's, no EMS. I am trying very hard to bring the cost down closer to $4000, but the shipping charges are kicking my ***.

So I guess about $4500, so still much cheaper than other kits out there.

If you have specific questions PM me.

Would you be interested in just selling the intercooler and piping?

Hey all you turbo experts out there. What Precision turbo would you recomend for a stock block. Basically something that will push 450whp max, for those that don't wish to go with a large 6262.

I am looking at doing a seperate kit for a stock block, smaller intercooler and maybe smaller intercooler piping (2.5"). Would like to have two optoins, one for build engines and one for guys that don't want to rebuild.

Something along the lines of a T04E 60 trim maybe?

why not build around a 18 or 20g. or a turbonetic 60-1

even that 5557 would be a ~600hp turbo

Thanks, I have a nice deal going with precision, so I would like to stay with them.

BoostedProbe.....

you will have a hard time finding a turbo that will only go up to 450 whp max.....because you only need about 10-12 psi to hit those numbers on a VQ35DE. that's relatively low and you'll find that many of the turbos that are only capable of 450 whp will be more efficient at a higher pressure ratio versus a lower pressure ratio (10-12psi in the manifold will have a pressure ratio of less than 2) for a given air mass.
This is not to say that you won't the exact turbo for your needs, but you will likely find that a larger turbo will be more efficient at lower pressure ratios for the same air mass flow.

for example with garret turbo, you could probably achieve your goal with a GT28, but a GT35 would probably be a better, more efficient choice even though that turbo is capable of a lot more than 450 whp. sorry...I don't have any info on the precision turbos.

Thank you, and I guess I should have worded that better. What I ment to say is a turbo better suited for 400whp than the large 6262, rather than a turbo that will make only 400whp. I understand what you mean though.

I will keep looking.

It's bee a bit slow litely with me spending a bunch of time searching, looking for the best deals on quality parts. I have sourced everything out and spend a **** load of money. Things are finally starting to arrive:

Tial + Precison FTW:

One thing I rally wanted to do is get rid of the OEM VAF sensor housing with these kits. I really don't like the look of nice polished aluminum piping and then this big black plastic thing in the middle of it. So, today at work I decided to experiment. Came up with something that will work great:

That will be the adapter that gets welded on to the charge pipe where the OEM VAF sensor hosing was. Something like this:

Pardon the welding on the last two pics, I did it real quick while BBQ'ing on a scrap piece of aluminum. Just wanted to see if I can fill the gap on the front and back. Looks like it will work great.

According to UPS, the intercoolers will be here tommorow (the big ones). I had to order a Exa scavenge pump on a rush because the dealer from whom I bought three from has them on back order (for the last two weeks)

Looking at finishing the 6262 kit here right away and sending it out to Don (MI 35th). Then him and Hal will run it to the max, and see how things go.
