Right, just use a switch so you can easily open/close the p101 wire, preferrably in an easy to reach spot. I put mine on the gauge pillar. There's no way to do a proper burnout without it unless you have linelocks.

The only way to do proper burnouts IS with linelocks. (or at least the only wai I am skilled enough to do burnouts )

And for the timeslip, i'll post one up as soon as im back at school with my scanner. My trap right now is 124, and i cant hook at all. quickest time is 11.84. Im running stock wheels and suspension. Im waiting on my surge tank and bosch 044 as well as 3" stainless piping so i can build and exhaust and get some more power out of it. I have the borla td, which is about 2.25" ID..... so it doesnt spool very fast. Also i have 750cc injectors that are running 92% duty making 482whp.. so im needing more fuel. I've got some things up on youtube GreddyVQ35DETT.
750cc injectors running 92% at only 482 hp?why is this ? do you have a fuel return system?

Thats why i am building a surge tank system. The single walbro isn't keeping up. I do have the AAM RFS. The bosch 044 should give me plenty of fuel. I should be making over 500whp on a dynojet right now, because it was 98 degrees in the shop that day, and that 482 made 430 on a dyno dynamics and i was allowed 3 pulls, so i made a couple of changes in the tune and got 461 out of it on the DD.

bumping and old thread....

so On my 2003 G35 you can see pin 101 is the pink/blue stripe line. Remember that in the FSM, you are looking at the side the wires come in, not the female pin side.

Pin 101 is the P/L 5th pin from the left on the 2nd row.

But, people keep saying they tap into their haltech harness to add in a switch. But how are you doing that. My harness is encased in a plastic shell and this no pin wiring diagram for the red box with its 3 harnesses.

So whats the secret? Which wire is Pin 101 on the haltech side? Obviously I'd rather not touch the stock harness if at all possible.

I did mine in the stock harness because I didn't have the haltech at the time. However, I don't believe pin 101 goes into the haltech, just through the patch harness. So trace it from the stock ecu connector to the patch harness and splice there. It works perfectly. Like others have said, if left undone it keeps cruise control from working (takes a week or so of driving for me o have this effect) but in this case all you have to do is close the switch while driving then come to a complete stop.

duh, makes sense now, I forgot that the stock ECU was buried on the floor board under all that mess.

Will have to check that end of haltech harness and see if the wires are accessible.

reviving an old thread, i have a 2005 base model with the momentum kit, would it really matter to me if i just cut the wire at pin 101 and left it without the switch if my car has no cruise control or tcs? i bought a switch regardless to throw in but if i dont need to i can return it haha. Thanks and after trying to brake boost with pulling the brake light fuse im addicted to it =)

You can cut the wire and leave it unconnected (put some tape/crimps over the ends so they don't short). Like others said it only affects cruise.
