I have 10k on mine so far. All I've had to do is oil, plugs, and a couple coils.

I haven't been in here in forever...My 550hp+ twin turbo has been with ME since '07..I have put roughly 25,000 miles on it..I have raced the www.bborr.com 7 times and had several track days...I rebuilt the turbos and flow matched the injectors about 9 months ago...pulled the motor, did the pathfinder mod and a bunch of wiring clean up and wrap...
just replaced the wideband o2..it went bad and was giving erroneous readings...I am registered to run the Big Bend race in April..car runs like a scalded *** ape!

I have been running the same Built motor since 2004. Charles At CJM built the motor. Over 40K miles on it now(Not sure on exact numbers). Power has been anywhere between 550-650+whp. Last tune was By Hal 636 Dynojet last year.
This year i am planning on pushing the motor pretty hard. Using Twin GTX3076 turbos. Using a set of custom CJM turbo manifolds. Upgraded intake and ID1300's. Shooting For 800whp maybe a little more if everything is going smooth.
I think most VQ failures are from improper tuning. These cars are also not the easiest to work on and a lot of simple mistake can be easily made. These motors make so much torque for there size and spool pretty quick which makes them so hard to tune.
I personally think the VQ's are VERY underestimated. Not many stock block motors can make it over 900whp. No one really even know's where the blocks limitations are. Watching all these VR's make over 1500whp on the stock sleeves makes me think.

Used to have issues with head gaskets, changed to power enterprise gaskets that are made in Japan had no more issues since.

A shop that sponsor's this forum just made well over 1000whp on a stock sleeved Vq. Not going to say who or when they did it because i am sure they will be making a new thread about it when its time.
There are Several Vr's making over 1200whp on stock sleeves. I know of at least one VR that makes just over 1500whp on stock sleeves. I am sure there are more out there. I have a couple friends that work at AMS (I am not a fan but they tune alot of GTR's). They have yet to break a stock sleeved motor that i was told about. They have had a couple sleeved motors fail.

Sounds like he is saying stock block as in specifically the block/sleeves. not the typical use of stock block which is causing some confusion.
they are several threads and post about the sleeve strength and no need to do drop ins for under 1000whp. it's nothing new.
