Default Longevity of full builds, the good the bad

Well it has been discussed in a number of threads so lets lay it all out here. All you guys that are fully built with FI, please list how long your setup has lasted (ie mileage and time) and any issues you may or may not have had. I think these experiences could really help the Z/G FI community.

No it says FULL BUILD, not stock block.

Good thread.. now if everyone is honest and actually speaks up the truth.. some ppl tend to keep there blown motors on the down low after a few miles n never hear back from them.

OP- since you made the thread you should probably write up your experience too

I plan on it, I'm in the process of my build it should be done and tuned by Feb/Mar. I am doing a DIY and I am havin Injected tune the car. My power goals are between 550-625whp. I have everything it is just a matter of having the time to do all of it. The motor is done and the turbos are on, it just needs put in. I did not do a build thread cuz quite frankly I don't have the time. Come March it will either be a nice dyno chart or failure, I am aware of that and that is why I'm staying quiet.

I will bite...

engine built 8/25/2008 Weisco and Eagle rods
JWT turbo kit reused from the stock block
meth/injection all at the same time.

the car now is over sea's have been through many kinds of elevations, and I push it from the day I got it and thankfully till today being thousands of miles away from where it started the car runs flawlessly.

alhamdullilaaaaa!!!!!!!!!! (thank god in Arabic)

I don't think too many people will post up their issues either out of pride or retribution.

I also have high hopes for this thread but we shall see if the wall of silence will finally be broken and people will actually speak their mind and experience.

I really hope this gets a good response. I have seen stories on here about nightmares after building their block and also stories of success. Some have said that they wish they had never built their block and stayed stock just not pushed past stock block limitations. Some have been through multiple blocks and would continue to do it. Some kits have had more success than others. Some went with a fuel return some didn't. I know there are so many variables that can cause failure and this could help condense the information into one location. I see no shame when you are pushing a machine to its limits and it goes boom. I do see shame in not sharing the experience with others who may do the same thing.

no one is gonna tell their **** because they're all hoping that if they keep quiet in threads like these their respective shops will "take care of them"

Its not always the shops fault and that could be made clear. Some kits have a poor design,some parts don't work well together no matter how perfect the install.

If there shops haven't taken care of them by now they never will. I agree with others unfortunately I don't seethis thread going to far.

oh believe me i know. I wasn't trying to imply that its always the shops fault. I just think thats a large part of the reason people don't talk. Its just the nature of the beast. You're rebuilding an engine and adding high boost and high hp to it, so things are ALWAYS going to brake. This goes back to the thread where the guy asked about ls2 swap vs built tt. No matter how bad you wanna believe it your $15k built block doesn't = reliability

i wanna know more about the maintenance and issues that come with being built.. i dont care what shop they used cause i already have a shop for my build and its not gonna change...

Fully built/FI since 06, almost 40k miles..

I change my oil every 2k miles
I change my diff fluid every 3k miles
I change my trans fluid every 10k miles
I use Mobil 1 15w50
I use Motul Diff
I use Nissan Oil for trans
I also use Z max every 3 oil changes

Thats my way, everyone is different but it has worked for me..
