dude i socked the bpv today while i was bored ill snap some pics tomorrow for peoples future reference while they search....i havent driven it and wont for months to come cause its off the road for winter but sitting and revving the whistle is completely gone and on the cold start too...I could still slightly hear the whistle at times with my filter and home-made extension thingy i had going on and now its completely gone so ill prolly just leave it like it is...now i just gotta drive it and make sure i dont get any flutter or anything but seems to be fine revving up so far how i have it, glad i tried it ...

well after hours of messing around with my bpv to get it to be quiet and not whistle at idle i decided to get in contact with vortech. They would not just send me a new one but said they could re-build it so i sent it to them and after a few days a guy called me and said that my bpv was for a s2000 and was the wrong spring and that they would replace it with the right spring when they rebuild it with a new diaphram and send it back..I received it today and put it back on and its perfect...very quiet and no whistle, it doesnt even blow off the same, i had a psshhhhhh like a blow off valve before much higher pitched and now it is just a gust of air much quieter..I am very happy and i even put my filter on to make it even more quiet..so my advice to anyone with a warranty and getting the whistle is to send it back so they can make sure its the right spring in it..dont know how mine was mixed up but it was, still worked fine but just whistled like a *****..

good to know man

my bpv hasn't whistled since i put that strip in front of the opening, but i have some downtime coming up in the next few weeks so i'll send it in for inspection. perhaps i got the wrong spring/part as well...wouldn't surprise me. they put a huge GM bolt in my box so i wound up having to buy one of the bolts that attaches the bracket to the timing chain cover.

btw, how long did the rebuild take?

yea adjusting mine only moved the whistle up and down a little in the rpm's..It would change it from whistling at 900 rpm to say 1100 rpm and vice versa depending on which way i turned it.. I now have 6 threads showing on it and no flutter and no whistle and it sounds great sitting idling and revvin up even though its winter and i wont be driving the car for another 4 months or so

yeah i beleive the maxflow bpv is used on quite a bit of different applications but there are different springs used and basically what he was telling me is that mine was set up for a s2k

from the day i sent it out i had it back in id say 6 business days...i sent it 2 day priority and thats how they sent it back

Sorry to bring this from the dead but mine started to whistle and I sprayed the poppet valve with lithium grease and it never whistled again.

Wish I would have found this thread! I paid $33 for the BPV filter shipped from superchargersonline.com

Summit is still selling these for $18 shipped!
