Default Your opinion on the haltech Platinum

Ive had the Platinum running my car for a while but have had idle and cruise A/F problems . Nothing real big but it does keep the car from running real good . If any of you remember I had a all cog belt T-trim Vortech set up . I am running N/A for now as Ive taken off and sold the SC . Ive got 800cc injectors on and may think this could be part of the problem . They are to big and arent open long enough to keep a good A/F . Ive emailed my maps to Hal hoping he can help me out some .

Ive also seen alot of the Haltech's for sale lately .Are people not satisfied with it , going with something else , or are they just going back to stock ?

Thanks to all that reply !!!!

Well. i would think sense your running na right now you would go with a smaller injector to get a better stable afr.. and i think more people are using uprev sense you can do alot with it n/a and fi. Of course i could be wrong with all of this. Just my 2cents worth of thoughts on the subject.

idle and cruise stability has as much to do with the specific type of injector as it does the overall tune

I didn't know you are still around...Didn't you try sell the car too? Idk, how you can stay N/A after all that power is gone. But glad to see you are still around tho.

Btw, why not find a stock injectors?

Dik.. i wasnt saying that im just saying that is what a lot of people are using, i guess for mild boost.I would think after getting alot of things done to car they would go with that or another piggyback system or stand alone ecu.

booger, Hal should be able to help. Do you have wideband feedback (closed loop)? Did you set injector dead times as per the manufacturer specs?

If you need I got Stock Injectors and APS 440cc (500cc@4bar psi) Injectors that come with the APS TT Kit.

I need DW 800cc for my build if you want to work something out.

I think every thing is set up right to run the car right except the tune and temp correction . It actually starts and runs ok . The A/F is all over the place though . The shop I normally use , I trust to do most every thing and Im sure he could work it out . But Ive asked him to tune it two times as it sits N/A . Maybe Im just jumping to conclusions on whats going on with that .

I think I will try to put smaller injectors in it and have him tune it one more time . I will have to drive to Tulsa , Chicago , or to Injected Performance in Kentucky other wise .

Im going to keep the bigger injectors for later on down the road . I plan to keep the car for now unless someone car offer a good price for a 03 G35 with a built motor and 21,000 miles on it . Its far from a perfect car but she still looks pretty good

a little offtopic but i'm curious, have you dynoed your car to see what #'s your car makes with a n/a low compression built motor?

With the bad tune it has on it now and 8.5 to 1 pistons it was 239whp on a Mustang Dyno set up to give closer to DynoJet numbers . It was 248whp on the same dyno stock with a few breathing mods . This is on a AT5 tranny .
