Default tuning over sea's throw online connection ?

my car was tuned by SAM at gtm with HKS Fcon and made 682whp on his dyno when i was in LA. now the car been shipped to Kuwait , my z should arrive on february so i was wondering is it possible to tune a car over sea's throw online connection ? or such an idea ! have any one done it in the state ? how efficient is it ?

am asking because of deferent variation in weather..etc . also, in future i may add CJM twin pump or SP hanger for higher rpm/Hp .

why am asking such question because there is no tuners that i can really trust to tune my car her in kuwait.

thanks in advance
appreciate any feed back

without the FCON tunign software on you personal computer, it wont work if some is to remotely log in.

With any other ems, you would just have to setup a remote desktop connection and the tuner could be anywhere, controlling your computer with his mouse.

there are some FI guys in Kuwait on this forum. Small tuner maybe?

Either way, time to dump your EMS and get something you can work on yourself. I imagine that if you got your car shipped over, you arent coming back anytime soon.

where can i get this software from (by any authorized HKS dealer) ? and if i got it would i be able to work with the tuner say ( gtm,forge..etc ) !

well i heard of small tuner but, when u say a pro tuner how tuned over 100s of VQ platform and know every thing about it sure would be more knowledgeable than a tuner how tuned less than 10 VQs platform thats why i asked. major shops here work with american sports cars and have no slits idea about our engines.

yes, am not going back for at least for 4 years

There is an authorized HKS dealer KSA Jeddah. He tuned alot if VQ's before.

Ohh and call Sam, he can do that. Me and him talked about that before.

can u give more info please and how that would work. i like to gather as much info about this subject before i get it form just one person prospective ( nothing personal just my opinion ) cause it wont help as much in my opinion as if u gather it from several sources so u can know exactly what u dealing with and know what the good or bad about it before i get in this process

With the F-CON he said something about sending a base map that will work for my friend goal witch was 14psi on Greddy 18G's and built block. and after reading your signature I don't think that will work for you.

The only way I can see it happening is to contact the authorized HKS dealer in Jeddah. I can get you his cell# if you like to check with him if you can get him to Kuwait.

I have looked into this before, and it is possible though not ideal and a little tricky. The dyno computer should be setup with the dyno software and tuning software for the car. Whoever is operating the vehicle needs an audio connection to the tuner who is instructing them what to do, and should be comfortable watching gauges and listening to knock-monitors.

The HKS FCON presents an additional problem as it requires a USB key to enable the tuning software. Haltech would not have this problem as it is unlocked and gives access to the end user if necessary (password protection is optional, but no USB key required).

so it can't be live data sent to u after each pull then the tuner A (USA) do what need to be done to the map data and then send it back to tuner B (kuwait) and doing this back and forth till tuner A feel he reach his goal for this car !!

"audio connection to the tuner who is instructing them what to do, and should be comfortable watching gauges and listening to knock-monitors."

that can be manageable maybe through "msn, skype, oovoo" something like this right ? so tuner B can talk with tuner A !

say it i got a Haltech is it compatible with HKS AFK 2 banks, navigator ?

either option is not very good for me . ship the car going to take total of six month for the car to get just a tune NO way. 4 to 5 month to get the car there and say about a month to get around my car that just ridicules. the other way to have a tuner come to kuwait well i think u know the answer it going to cost big $$$$$$ to get him here.

am looking for an alternative way that cost effective and yet get good tune

your welcome any time let me know when u get to kuwait

I will let you know for sure!

Why would it cost too much? Its about 3k round trip, also its safer because you dont wanna pay 25k for rebuild/ new turbo kit..

well maybe if we where 3 guys (2k on each) then that might make since to me but 6K for me right now its not the ideal thing to do. plus when u used to tune u car for 500 and all the sudden 6K :P well its hard for me to swallow it. i know it not the tune its the other expenses.

you know when i think of it there should be a branch of performance shop in the gulf reagin like (SP , injected performance , GTM , underground racing (viperTT/lamboTT/gt40TT) , titan.. etc ) they would make tons of $$$ , and then i could tune my car for 500 :P jk

we have a ballers and big time not me though i like to spend my money on something that makes since to me but thats just me

you know labor is nothing in kuwait u can get u kit installed and tuned for less than 2000 (if the tuner is friend of yours or friend of a friend) . new paint for u car 1300 i mean the hole car ... etc

i see that u have a TT you should ship u z. you can go for 160mph+ every day for 30min on kuwait freeway and no one would stop u cause every body is driving fast :P the average driver drives between 95 to 120 mph (left lane).

As I said before, there are authorized HKS dealers in Jeddah, Bahrain, Qatar...etc and I know the one in Jeddah (his name is husam tayeb and he is also UPREV dealer) do travel to tune costumers cars around the gulf reagin, as a mater of fact he is coming next week to Riyadh to tune a G35 with 4.2L stroker and greddy 18G's kit upgraded to the 25G's
