The turbo kit came with the programing cable, this cable gives you the ability to pull codes in case the check engine light come on.
There is not even one justifiable reason for the light to be on , if the light is on then something is wrong which means the system is working
pull the codes, e mail them to us and we will get you squared away .

If you got tpms sensors in your new wheels, any Nissan/Infiniti dealer can calibrate the sensors to your car so the functionality is restored. I think its a nice feature to have.

Depending on what code you're throwing it might or might not be a big deal. Catalyst code you could probably ignore it... random misfire not a good idea to ignore.
They make non foulers for your test pipes BTW (I'm sure you know that, but just for others who are curious) that will stop catalyst codes.
Random misfire is fixed with proper plugs, gapping, and tune.

Not everyone gets those, and neither do I, not once. My observation is that if your car is misfiring enough to trigger 0300 (and it takes on-going regular misfiring, not just an occasional glitch) you need to go get your tune fixed.

Download Cipher:
Cipher V1_03 Installer.exe (203.4 MB)
Use the cable thats was provided by GTM in your Kit. It's real easy to use. There are instruction included in the downloaded file.
Also see UpRev FAQ:

This should help you out.

I had that cat welded in an I just get a/f sensor codes most likely from the car idling rich. I beat the cat code and should beat the sensor code when i get a touch-up this spring

Woooow, thank you. Dont have the Z around here. Im very interested what my Z will say with the cable the the cipher software .
Do I have to pay attention to something, if I plug my laptop with cipher in the Z? Dont want to kill my tune .
Thanks,
Alex.

I'm not saying you can't do anything to cause it to not throw a code, but for most people who just put test pipes in or turbo their car with the basic parts given to them they throw codes, and that's A LOT of people.
Is there a way to do it right? yes. Saying that no codes should be thrown is not correct for a lot of people who if they dont know any better would read this thread then get worried that their car is going to blowup.

I agree that an occasional light is probably nothing to worry about though. But having it on 24/7 is negligent if you're not scanning it regularly.

Maybe I'm the only one but the only lights/gauges I care about on my dash are.
Low Oil light
Oil pressure
Water temp
A/F
Boost
Check engine light has never meant anything to me.
any random sensor really doesn't bother me, if one goes bad chances are the car will go into limp mode, for the most part it's a dummy light, is there any sensors that could go bad that the stock ECU reads that could cause a major engine failure? I don't think there is.
Correct me if I'm wrong and yes there's a good chance that I am wrong lol. Please just don't say because they're there for a reason......

Well I suppose if you are misfiring or if a wire has been burned through that might be good to know and the CELs can be helpful in tracing the source of the problem when you do experience issues that affect the car's driveability. I'm pretty sure the GTM reflash disables those CELs that are irrelevant to that particular build (e.g. for a cat-delete, the cat efficiency codes are disabled). Thus if the CEL light does come on, then it should be relevant.
