going TT eventually...
What did I do this time?
At this point and time if I were the OP I'd find a stock motor and get the car running again.
Alberto/Cass should know numbers, people always think it will cost much less but if I had to guess I'd say building the motor and doing the turbo, getting it installed and so on should run you around $20-$25K before you get to drive it again.
Keep in mind if a turbo kit is $6-7K it will end up being around 10-12K once it's installed and ready to use. My turbo kit was around 7K I did my own install and it still ran me around $10K once it was done. There's lots of little things that pop up you dont think about.
OP do you have $20-25K ready to go? If not, put a stock motor in it and drive it til it's saved up.
Plan B your best option would be to put a stock motor in your Z, sell it, then buy one of the already boosted cars on this forum.
P.S how did the first motor take a ****?

OP, yeah, you could run the motor without FI with 8.8:1 compression. It's just going to be slow as *****... And you're not going to save any money in the long run by doing it this way. So don't do it.
And yeah, there's a lot of stuff that's not on your list that you're going to need for a 600whp build.
Also, if you went from NA to 600whp, you'd probably kill yourself. Just get a stock block and go with a moderate amount of boost, and see what happens... You can always build later if you feel like you need more power.
I guess what I'm saying is, lower your immediate goal. You'll be happier driving a 350whp Z that you can build the motor in later than driving a 200 whp Z (maybe less... Does anyone have any numbers on a 8.8:1 Z with 0psi of boost?) that you can turbo later.
Just my
Turbo built motor with out turbos is fail.
Has the OP driven anything over 350WHP? I couldn't be happier with my 373WHP DD around 420-430dyno jet WHP car. I straight up have zero desire for more power. Then again I get my speed fix from my GSX-R
