debating Stillen or GTM. I'm open for all suggestions. oil temps during the summer hit 240F just driving around town in 100F heat.

I have the Stillen.... It works great.... I have also heard the same about the GTM.... I am not sure what they cost though.

stillen is a bit more but i'd rather pay a bit more if it was the superior kit. good to know your beast has a stillen though.

Jason,

I actually built my own which parts I pick. Here is a thread RBALDINELLII created eons ago. I followed it and it is cheaper yet still very functional. Probably the only things I would change is getting a black color cooler and different color hoses. Probably stainless steel lines. I hope that helps.

Thanks Robert, I no longer have the crash bar so not sure how approach the install. I'm sure my installer could figure something out.

Setrab is another one but not sure if they have a kit. If this is for a 370z, I'd check out that board. There are a TON of posts, DIY, and feedback sonce this is a major issue w the Z34. I've heard some of the kits still aren't sufficient for tracking and people are DIY with larger and multiple cores.

i think people are crazy to shell out that kinda money for a oil cooler.

All GTM has done is package OTS products, mark them up again, and resell. Thats an excellent business plan and it has seemed to work superbly! You can get all those components from Jegs/Summit for cheap and make your own -AN lines from ebay.

Heck even this would work perfectly http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=370288418608

you may just want to swap to a thermostatic sandwich plate.

Better yet, send me 550$ and I'll make you a oil cooler kit

If that GTM Comp kit is the one your looking at it is probably the best kit. But if the Stillen kit comes with a thermostatic plate (which they didn't when I spec'd mine together, but now on the Stillen site it says they do) it would be plenty.

damm you are pretty hardcore. I wouldn't feel comfortable or safe without a crashbar haha maybe because I live in Los Angeles.

As for mounting there might be a place you can mount on the radiator support. I am sure your guy can figure it out.

Good Luck

Yeah, I built one from a Mishimoto core, Summit racing lines and fittings and a Mocal adapter (The Mishimoto kit's adapter and lines created a whine).

Default cooler

i'm also looking in to buying or building a kit. I know the Stillen uses the Setrab cooler with the 6an line fittings.

I believe a 10 AN line and fittings are the standard for the Z's capcity and flow characteristics. Something like a 6 AN (8 AN comes in the Stillen kit) might begin to change the presure characteristics. Same thing with 12 AN and higher.

I think the lowest price you could build this kit for would be in the realm of $450. Its got some top shelf stuff.

ya some people need an ARC radiator, and some are equally happy with the Mishimoto. They both work the same, so it just depends what your money is worth to you.
