My HKS S/C Installation
Well I got you all beat. My boost just went from 8.5psi to well over 11psi. My Exhaust also got quieter. I am thinking my HFC's have melted or my boost gauge sensor is going bad. Now at the same time I am not feeling much power at WOT. I haven't a clue right now, but I will get the HFC off over the weekend to check it all out.

Guys, I spoke with Sam today. Any idle surge/inefficiency issues are NOT due to the GTM pulley. There are many other issues that could be at play (including tune related). I apologize for believing the word of another without properly thinking out the scenario. There are many proven setups running the GTM 85mm pulley w/out issue. Must check belt tension/bolts/tune etc...
^^no, he didn't. He is kindly helping me try to resolve my issues. I am trying to source new belts for replacement and check proper belt and bolt tension. That will be first step.

Well found my boost issue. My Berk Metallic Substrate HFC's are coming apart. I have a total of 4000 miles on this set.
I guess there not so good for forced induction set as advertised. "Perfect for forced induction use"
This is the set with the revised double gusset. They still broke at the welds. Oh well I guess it time for resonated test pipes.
I have found a set of Megan Racing Resonated Test-Pipes.
Any thoughts or recommendations?

The problem is that hot start is a matter of VERY fine tuning.
Typically I've found that idle surge usually comes down to fueling. Once the fueling is stabilized at idle, the surge usually goes away. The trims need to be ~100 and the MAF curve should be pretty smooth/flat in the idle area. Same goes for the fuel compensation and the ignition advance. They should all be pretty smooth around the idle area.
yes, your belts need to be of a proper tension and not slipping to make the power you should. There are instructions on belt tension in the manual. When my kit was first installed I made decent power. Then the belts were tightened down more and I gained 2 psi and more power, so belt tension makes a difference.
Thanks for the info! What belt set up did you use with the 85mm pulley? I bought the belt from Sam@GTM like 2 months ago and it is not working fine. Gotta check for a replacement now since it started making a louder squeaking noise at start up.
My blower doesn't make any sort of sounds.

I don't believe so. It is not the dreaded vortech metal grinding sound nor is it a whine. I've been told it's normal for Rotrex style blowers but am unsure. With your car on and the hood up, put your ear close to the blower and see if u can hear what I am referring to. thx.

As for the others:
A/c side is OEM
Pw steering, alternator. I am using a Dayco 5060670 (6PK1700).
The belt that comes with the 85mm pulley (as shown on GTM build threads any what came with my kit) is the Bando 7pk1040. BandoUSA does not stock 7pk belts, you could try the Dayco (but I'm unsure on their quality--they seem fairly generic to me), or maybe Gates has an offering. I'm assuming the 1040 indicates a 1040mm length. Did you get a Bando 7pk1040 from GTM? If so, have you tried tightening it down some more?
Guys, this is what my blower sounds like at idle (there is a "ringing' coming from blower). I have less than 5k miles on it

So ur guys' blowers do not make this "ringing" sound as captured above?

Thats mine at idle
Mine sounds the same as IanP
On a side note I got my stock Cat's back on for now. No more HFC's for me. Done with the whole cat cracking and cat blowing apart thing. I am looking at Motordyne ART Pipes.

You should be running at a minimum 3" cats for FI. Since installing AAM 3" cats and downpipes I've had zero issues with 10k miles so far on them and 9-10psi with twins. It's the same cats they use as an upgrade for the GTR cats so they definitely hold boost no problem.
I've seen nothing but issues with ANY 2.5" cat and boost.

Your stock cats are probably not going to 'blow out' but they are most certainly going to clog completely... get test pipes ASAP.
Jonnylaw,
my car makes the same exact ringing sound as your since day one I got the car back. I thought it should be normal and I've had it for more than 10000 miles now.
