My HKS S/C Installation
So tell me if I'm correct based on reading this thread.
- Running a stock unit and pulley avg. 6 psi, which could be increased by running a larger crank pulley, possibly near 8 psi?
- GTM modified units and pulleys don't really show higher unit efficiency or whp numbers.
- Also, are any of you guys running 272 cams or meth?

335 WHP is the lowest number I can find on this kit. Sound about right?

This car only has an HKS exhaust from what I can tell, the rest is perfectly stock.
I'm think that with the following mods, and a stage 0 kit I can easily push 350-375 which I think would be perfect for me on a stock block track car. I will also be taking out the majority of my interior.

- DW 600cc Injectors
- Walbro 255
- HKS Dual Exhaust
- Motordyne ART Test Pipes
- AEM Meth
- ATI Crank Pulley
- BC Stage 3 Cams & Springs
- AAM Plenum Spacer
- Powerlab Oil Spacer
Let me know what you guys running this kit think, because this would add another option to the PL with a 4.5 spring, or the small GT25 GTM kit.

I think that a meth kit won't bring any power gains with an stage 0 or even stage 4. Also, your boost levels might drop because of the tp's. I was going to get a meth kit, but me and my tuner decided to skip it since it costs money, tuning time, and ads the chances to have future issues. I terms of the crank pulley, that something i want to know. let us know the output of your set up. I myself wanted to order a crank pulley but after reading the issues jonnylaw had, i decided to wait for a bit lol
Same here. The meth wouldn't be for power, and I would not tune around it.
I guess I could see a boost drop with tps but you guys don't seem to be having any luck with cats either.

Absolutely UNTRUE. Where are you getting this information? GTM spec blowers improve efficiency and the custom pulley increase psi. These 2 things work together to achieve extra boost/power.

What ems do you plan on running, if only using a reflash and running off of a maf sensor, you will need an upgraded maf. If you run a v-pro or similar, you can run off of map.
You will be better served getting at least a GTM Stage 1/2 kit or higher for your goals. Some of what you mention in mods will be included in the GTM kits, in addition to the GTM spec blower and/or pulley.
My Power Enterprise metallic HFC's have held up fine under boost (although I might check them next time they are on the rack).
I am tempted to try the Motordyne ART pipes and XYZ pipe with HFC to see if any gains can be had, but they are still out of stock and I am still unsure on whether to pull the trigger.

I lost 2 psi and lost about 10whp. I'm really considering the idea of a Crank pulley to make up for the boost lost, but I I wonder if I'll run into any problem

Also, to those planning to do meth, I'd recommend to save the money. Even I was told by my tuner that at 6-8.5psi it is simply not worth it.
Can you really do meth without a tune???? I didn't know that
