This thread+not being completely confident with a DIY is the reason I'm not FI..........yet.

OP I sincerely hope you come out of this feeling OK. I can't imagine the frustrations your going through.

I've done plenty of research and read others paid for their builds and im still gonna say what he charged was ridiculous. The information I received was from this forum so if its dragging down the quality then start with the source.
you are comparing installation charges of an FI kit with the current OP's situation.. don't forget that there is a lot of f*cked up stuff on the G on top of the parts gtm listed.. as many said FI and cheap don't go together... DIY are a whole different thing..

No shop should be afraid of public criticism if you were 100% truthful and honest from the start.

Damn, Sharif and the boys hacked the crap out of that brand new car, didnt think it was possible. Sharif was supposed to be the prince of Fi installs. Like every other vendor on this site, they rise then fall but FP did have a long wrong i truly dont see them getting much more business from this site. Good Luck op

Guess Shariff should of been watching over the installs instead of making videos of the GTR at the track

While the rates alot of these shops charge is ludacris, that bill is about right in the aftermarket world. Like Rom said, this is not a cheap platform to mod. I got quotes from Sharif, and Dave at FT and they were very comparible. Being a mechanic, I was in no way paying that. If you can't do it yourself in this hobby you just need to shut up and pay.

that my motto, too. For most people, it is just not possible or plausible to DIY. The best part of DIY is you realize that EVERYTHING needs modification.....there is no such thing as "plug n play" when it comes to serious car mods. So, when I see dents in a pipe to make something fit, there is usually a reason for that dent. No one hammers on metal for the fun of it.

Really tuff to read all that, brings back BAD memories. When I had my car worked on there was a guy who had his car at the same shop that was into his in the 40K range for almost a year and had it shipped here from Europe, he really got bent over. Nice to see you're taking legal action.

i don't think sharif can get out of this one! seems like some shops who develop big egos think they can start to eventually lag on work and cheap people out. this only shows me on thing, i'd rather do every minute of work on installing my own kit even if it takes a month! because in the end, Forged took 7 months, and it looks like a monkey installed his kit. sorry man, hope you get your car fixed!

Shitty kit...should have sent it back or suggested another one when you had to massage it EVERYWHERE with a fix-all. Huge modification or not, the kit should have FIT and there is no excuse for that monstrosity in the pictures.

There are 2 sides: the shitty kit and the shitty install. They did not take a well-fitting kit and pound it into....that cluster****. Mistakes were made on both ends and if the customer was informed that the kit fit like crap and they had to use band-aids everywhere, he should have halted the work, otherwise he is part of this mess as well trying to force a square peg into a round hole. If he was not informed, then it is different and the fail lies with GTM and FP COMBINED.

I don't think he's trying to get out of anything. He basically owned up to what happened.

I don't know whats up with all these random people coming into the FI and dropping their $.02 now that something has actually gone down. The OG's know who they are, but all the rest of you guys are trolls. What you "would do" in this situation has absolutely no bearing on anything.
