Red face Got my v2 vortech installed, couple questions.

2003 350z

Ok got my v2 vortech installed. It ran pretty good, no stuttering or anything. At first my car was getting hot. Had an air bubble in the coolant system. Got that taken care of.

Ok now the questions.

I know the sc's are loud, but it sounds like rusty sticking brakes, is that normal? lol sounds like its coming from the brakes while driving but its not the brakes. bypass valve noise?

How do I know the sc is getting oil? of course the lines are all hooked up, but how do i actually know its getting oil?

The car felt good for 2 days, but now its seems almost back to stock power. Boost leak? coupler lose? They were all tight. Plan on doing pressure test tomorrow using rubber adapter on the sc and blowing low pressure air thru using compressor.

The car didn't seem amazingly faster, It's faster but I thought it would be like hell yea!

The sc gets pretty hot to the touch, is this normal also? The cog belt is not tight at all, but tight enough not to slip.

Sorry if some of these sound dumb, its my first sc.

Thanks for any suggestions.

the only way to tell is if you get a vid... vortech is loud at idle.. but if it sounds like rocks in a can... your bearings are shot.

t should not feel like stock power... who tuned the car?... boost leak? could be.. belt slip etc.

what pulley?

pulley is the stock 3.33

It doesn't sound like rattling unless its very low rpm's like backing up without enough gas.

The sound is more like shhhhhhhhhhhhhh rather then whinny noise.

split second controller with base map

I have a 3.12 pulley but I dunno if i should use it since my car is stock besides injen exhaust and kinetics intake.

I'm more worried about how it felt powerful, and now all of the sudden a day later it feels stock NA again. Still makes the blowoff sound tho after high revs.

Today I tested it for boost leaks by hooking a hose up to the supercharger using a compressor pushing maybe 2lb's of air thru the system with the car not running.

Everything seemed tight but the vortech bypass valve was blowing right thru even tho it was closed. Isn't the part in the valve that closes supposed to have a oring? In the groove on the piece that seals it shut? Does anyone have a picture?

I'm confused.

Do you have a boost gauge hooked up? This would tell you if you are at least making boost. You will need to pressurize the system higher than 2 psi to find a boost leak, check out my "homemade boost pressure test" to see how to do this. My best guess is belt slip is causing your issue (the belt could of stretched). Take your cog pulley belt off and let you car idle with the hood open and feel if the supercharger is getting hot from the hot engine oil circulating through it. The cog belt shouldn't be tight, I make it so the tensioner pulley can move fairly easily.
