Default who needs a stinkin powerband?? not me- dyno teaser

So after asphyxiating Sharif and the crew at Forged for about 6 hours this is where we ran out of time tuning on pump and meth. Sharif was pretty happy with how the car was making power so this was a good starting point for tomorrow.

weird issue with the cam phasing though. Shut the car off and the cams dont move for 2 or 3 pulls, then after that they come back on and the turbos spool 'normally'. Hopefully Sharif and Hal can get that sorted..

tomorrow dial in the meth tune a little more, do a full pull to 8000 and then dump in C16 and boost til the clutch slips.

Good thing is that my powerband isnt that different from Hals 9.3s @145 single, so the car might actually make a good pass for a G35 this season.

We can safely say that twin 6262s are a little much for a small 3.5L At least I dont have to worry about my clutch slipping

Ive got tons of pics, so I might have to make a proper shop build thread on of these days.

Here was the 898whp vid

Not much going on until you get past 5000rpm..and you were telling me that ONE 6262 is too big.

Either way, nice max HP numbers.

too big for a stock motor they run singles on EVOs up to like 700hp.

really goes to show how much cam and head work that SP has on their car carries them

AWD Motorsports did 784whp on E-85 and 8.98@156 on only 2.0L

what boost level for the dyno sheet number?

I hope one day someone do twin GT35 HTA on a VQ35

very nice...i can't wait to tear my just finished car apart in august to put a large turbo on it. This vortech is just holding me back.

what are you thinking for numbers on twin 6262's?

And how the heck are you going to keep traction with a powerband like that? With a 6262 shouldn't you spool quicker?

i have 2x 6262s. a single one would spool faster and have a dyno much like the standard powerlabs kit.

thats a typical supra'esque' power band. I think we'll switch to race gas after ~720whp. Id like 750 but we'll see.

Sharif did another car that made 716 on his dyno and then made 877 on the dynojet. If I am making 850DJ on pump +meth, thats pretty awesome.

ya, that looks like a large single dyno run.

I was just down at IP last weekend and hal installed haltech and tuned my vortech. 14psi, 451hp on the DD. I know all about that nasty 13% high DJ. DD is the only way to tune though!

so i'm nervous about only using a single 6262 if you're only around 720 right now with twins. I would like a solid 600hp with nice torque.

then do a greddy kit. to make good trq you need a smaller twin setup. Look at intenses 6-- whp on race gas powerlab dyno. dont expect much different

600 would be no sweat for the 6262, with a nice tq curve.

This is strickly a drag/highway car?

Not much happening until 6000rpm's then you get cut off too soon IMO.

IIRC Hal revs to a proper 8300rpm's, without you going that high you wont have a lot to work with reeling in cars that beat you under the peak and then staying ahead. I see many rubber band runs in your future if you keep that redline or close to it.
