Streetzlegend- I honestly couldn't tell top or bottom. I literally put my ear to the oil pan and still couldn't pinpoint the sound. Going to go buy a mechanic's stethascope I guess.
Whoojong- Negative on the smoke out of tailpipe.
Tehkmob- Other than that little bit on the cap, my coolant looks crystal clear like green gatorade. Nor am I seeing a mass of bubbles in my oil (water). A compression test I have yet to do and I think my oil pressure is a little over 30 when warmed up. Tehkmob you feel that my 0w-40 M1 is not thick enough oil? As I understand it is one of the best for FI.

I also ran a magnet all through the oil in that plastic can there and came up with nothing. And that is my oil after 1500 miles aprox.

It can still be a spun bearing, actually dosnt have to be a spun bearing, it can be a bent rod like mine had. Everything was absolutely perfect, except for the faint sound (faint at first). Did you see if the noise was louder from the bottom of the car?

I dont think you should turn this motor on anymore unless you narrow down exactly what it is. and if you do turn it on, just idle for a couple min's but no driving.

I literally put my ear up to the oil pan but still couldn't pin point the sound. Going to get a stethscope today.

So what next? Pull off the upper oil pan and take off each rod cap?

well, once you take off the upper oil pan, move the rods side to side or up n down to see if there is play, front to back (pushing them towards front of motor and back) will have play which is normal, very minimal though so dont worry about that. the play you dont want is up down.

Also since you will have the motor basically taken apart, put a ratchet on the crank pulley and tun the crank back n forward as well, to see if you can hear the tap at the bearing(s)

Welcome

Yeah man, you should take the motor apart, its better than finding out when your on the highway and there are pieces of oil pan and rod all over the road.

I'm not sure exactly what you're asking, but i'm on an uprev EM with my rev limiter at 7300 on a built block. I don't believe that my SC had anything to do with it.

The op is the second owner of the car,Engine was built back in 2007, last record we have of the car is about a year ago back then the engine had close to roughly 25 k.

Pulling the upper oil pan is not a simple task, Diagnosing an engine noise via video on the internet is mission impossible.you are not very far from us get the car towed and we should be able to identify the noise fairly quick.
