Default Vortech V3 leaking, but not through seals.

Hi All, came back from the track on the weekend and when changing my wheels over saw oil, lots of oil...

Anyway I pulled the guard off and checked the SC, belts, seals and cogs are dry and the area where the drain line is connected to the housing is also dry. There's lots of oil on the guard and surrounding areas from around what I presume to be the filler bolt. There were no leaks before I went to the track and I've been using the Vortech for about 2 months now, so I'm guessing wherever the leak is coming from, it's under sustained high RPM.

I read back and a few people were having issues with the V2, is anyone having similar issues with the V3?

The bolt is quite hard to access as it's right up against part of the chassis, but I can get a hex key into it and have tightened it up, though it didn't seem loose. The breather bolt is also dry and there's no residue on the inside of my hood, not sure where else to look?

I also drained the oil and seems like I lost about 1/3rd of it.

so you did replace the bolt that came on the unit with the one in the package, right?

i'd pull your blower and inspect closer. take pics of oily areas on the charger

Pics...in this first one you can see oil on the top of the guard that's been peeled back. Belt, cog, seals all dry.

Second pic is a slightly closer look inside...no visible residue on the SC housing except small patch on the bottom and on the breather hose.

I think it's the fill bolt because it's more likely the oil has come out, leaked onto the guard and dripped down...

Do you have a catch can? You may be getting blow by from the PVC, I have had this problem before.

I dunno, the cog comes preinstalled by Vortech and there aren't that many Vortech 350Zs rolling around Austraia to compare it against.

It was the last time I used it, it's winter in Australia now. The AC compressor has always been a bit greasy.

Hmm could be blow-by, I don't have a catch can on that side, but I've extended the intake piping into the front-bar, so it would be hard for oil to get all the way up there.

Ciao a tutti..
o riscontrato lo stesso problema di perdita dell'olio dal compressore e la cosa a mio parere sembra che succede quando si gira in pista e si sta su di giri....
