I told him the same exact thing! I will call Speed Concepts and UPS every dam day till they replace it and it is not damaged! I also want prrof of it being inspected before it leaves his place of business. He's sitting there with intercoolers at his company and he wont send one out till UPS cuts them a check. This has to be one of the worst customer service policies I've ever saw.

UPDATE:
After having my friend/shop contact Greddy direct to check on IC's in stock. I was informed that to purchase the IC seperate is a 3 month wait from Greddy. They do have IC's w/ plumbing here in the states for 1,800.00.
Spoke with Dan @ Speed Concepts and explained the situation to him. I asked him to have an answer for me on Monday with details of the replacement shipped to me. By than, if Speed Concepts does not have an answer; I will return the kit, and purchase it from someone I can trust. I will not spend 1,800.00 for a replacement IC and wait for whenever Speed Concepts decides to send me a replacement.
It's really unfortunate they are no longer a vendor here, because I would love for them to chime in on this!
Either way--the car goes in the shop at the end of the week to start the build.

why not just ask for some money back from Speed Concept. thats a purely cosmetic issue. After 2 months on the road, the IC will be dinged all to hell anyhow, so it wont even matter

Dinged to hell? I've had 4 FI cars with front mounts, and never damaged any of them! Tiny needle nose pliers to straighten the fins!! Yes-- i is clazy! I baby my cars to no end. All I want is what I paid for. If someoen else is happy with damaged goods, Speed Concepts has a nice intercooler with a big azz dent on the top they will sell to you.

good luck getting your money back from Speed Concepts. Wonder what the restocking fee will be. 20% of 5 or 6000$ is a good bit of change.

Damaged goods--restocking fee? Credit card company backs you 100%. I've already contacted them
This is now the 2nd time I've bought merchandise from merchants on the forums and they dont back what they sell. Worst part was, they are both high ticket itmes

Todays update:
Just called UPS, and was told that the intercooler is being shipped back to Speed Concepts. Anyone know if damaged merchandise is usually shipped back to the merchant even if UPS is responsible for it?
I guess I'll be speaking with Speed Concepts today.

OK--than they should ship out a replacement once they received the damaged one. The way they go about this, I can never deal with them again. I'll pay more, knowing I don't have anything to worry about.

wow, sorry to hear about all that. I would be furious if something that like came damaged.
Just goes to show some companies just don't give a **** about customer service. There goes their business down the drain.

I doubt it will effect there business since they are no longer a vendor on here. The last conversation I had with them, I was a borderline lunatic! I just cant get passed the fact its going back to them, they have replacements in there shop and Greddy ONLY has kits!

So who is doing the install? or did I miss it? I am in Bklyn if you need any help. PM me as I too have a Greddy. Good Luck.

Also is this the 20G kit? I think that is the only kit avail for HR's. Not 100% sure though. Not mentioned in the initial thread.

Initial D/Advan will be doing the install. No time to try to do this on my own. I'm dropping the car off on Monday. I'm going to try to document the build or at least take photos of the progress to share with the masses. Especially since they will pull the motor, The Greddy HR kit has 20G's.

flywheels are shatty mods. get a decent clutch and call it a day. Multiple mapping can do wonders. my other ride, I have a low boost setting that gets 20mpg, where as a regular 91 map get 15. greddy emanage will do its job. I'm still running unichip, believe it or not, and I've got no issues. Utec or reflash might be a good option, if you can't afford a standalone, like me

IC came at 9:15pm! Way to go UPS for being right on time!!
I took some pics. Again as you see the IC is damaged. This time I will live with the minor damage. I just can't understnad how foolish Greddy is to package there parts so poorly!
Car update: The cars been in the shop since last week. I had the trunk debaged and some other minor thing re-painted. The motor is being pulled tomorrow, and than the fun begins!
Will take pics..
Dam--forgot pics of the IC--here ya go. yu can see where its bent.
