procharger grinding at low idle?!?!
Anyone else with a procharger get a lot of grinding noise ( kind of like a low frequency growling ) when sitting in idle? I've got only 600 miles on it, but it doesn't seem to be going away. There's also a lot of vibration at idle. So much that I can feel it in the clutch pedal.
Also, when I put the car in neutral, the rpms drop very low and bog down the engine. Did the rest of you guys get the idle rpm raised or do you experience the same issues?
I'll try to post a sound clip if I'm not making any sense.

dude i get the same sound on my charger ..the noise is coming from the snail itself....i called ati, they want me to rip it out and send it in for warranty repair....it sounds like a grind and the noise kicks in the hardest at idle and in reverse right?

I think the noise is coming from the belts. Mine has it at times, but mainly when the accessory pulley is being used to run the air conditioner, defroster, etc. It seems that when the blower belt are running slowly they chatter....I could be wrong.

ok, here is a sound clip (10 mb each). This is me rocking back and forth in 1st and reverse. I'm going slow, like you would if you were backing out of a spot with 2 suv's parked on either side.

and here's one of me reving the engine in neutral. not very interesting and you can't hear much besides the normal whine and air.

Didn't MaxHax and that other guy say they had a chatter/vibration at low RPMs before their motor blew?
Search for the MaxHax thread I believe he says something like that.

I think MaxHax had a rough idle though.....mine for example has a perfect idle, but when I gently depress the clutch to start rolling and the rpms drop below 1000, the belts seem to make noise.

write a letter to ATI and tell them how pissed you are. Have they been contacted already? That is f'ed up. I would be pissed. I was at Stillen when they first installed my SC and they finally paid attention.
