i do need something that is less restrictive, but it should function as much as an interncooler rather than just a plain aluminum box.
temps here reaches +120F in summer, and humidity isn't any better. because we're an island surrounded by sea.
For 120* I'd get a 600-800hp precision core...My temps never go over 100* and average 80-90.

are you saying 80-90 as in environmental temp? as in weather? or you mean what you have logged?
because i'm talking about the weather reaching 120F...

oem vortech intercooler is sucky. My intake temps were usually 20-30* higher than ambient when cruising. With my new big nice intercooler from boosted performance my intake temps are 5-7* above ambient at cruise....very nice change.
so yes, a lot to benefit from upgrading the vortech intercooler.

But you also added (2) 12in fans to help reduce the i/c output temp with the new i/c??

Correct. I have a G35 and the bumper pretty much covers the entire intercooler.

very good gains. This seems to be the best kit for bang for the buck.

I don't unfortunately. I even took off my bumper today before reading this.

That's exactly the one I have but I had to cut the pipes because the intercooler is longer and the vortech mounting bracket doesn't work so I also had to zip tie my intercooler to hold it up ( YES, I USED ZIP-TIES! )
