SP Boost Actuated Exhaust Cut-Out for my Greddy EVO TT
actually I was quite surprised they didnt just use a pair of their pre-fabbed 3" y pipes and cut the difference out of each exhaust pipe.

While visiting SP this week, I decided to take advantage of some of their innovations and went with the Boost Actuated Exhaust Cut-out. My original intent was to install the pair. Due to time constraints and to make life simpler for all, rather than attempt to remove the downpipes on the Greddy Kit (PITA), we opted to install a single dump in between the 1st set of behind the cat pipes seen below:

Before Shots:

After:

First came assembling the actual 3" cut-out with the necessary down facing tip:

Then some more fab work:

Test fitting (Tacked it up):

Then final welding run the boost line and voila:

Done.
I utilized this set-up to counteract the anticipated hp losses I would incur by going with the Cosworth intake. Worked out pretty well. No overall power losses than previous set-up.

Looks awesome, congrats. Very weird that you did not have to retune (most likely unique to your situation). Usually means that your exhaust system is not restrictive at all so having the cutout really dosnt do much, or your map is tuned good enough that even if theres increased intake flow its still in good afr/timing etc...
Thanks for the compliments fella's. Truth be told (Larry)...The downpipes are 3" SGP downpipes. The Greddy Cat back pipes are 2.75" pipes. But because we were not about to attempt to remove the downpipes based on location, we decided to do the job at the front most pipes right after the downpipes.
Honestly, the system is already loud to begin with because of the open wastegate dumps. I didn't notice any difference in terms of loudness when we were tuning. I only noticed the difference when I began to drive the car and the exhaust opened. I felt the grumble coming from under the car. Wonderful sensation I have to say!

I'm on an APS 2.5 dual exhaust and thinking about upgrading to a 3" exhaust. Would this be a better upgrade say in power and money wise? If you don't mind, how much is this unit cost? Thanks.
- the 2.5" downpipes certainly helps to explain that torque curve... Time to step up to 3" downpipes Randy!!!
he has 3" already...
how long til you guys get some more 4" cutouts in?

.. just not boost activated.

- not sure why the torque and power peak so early...
