Stillen Stage 2 Supercharger vs Turbonetics Single Turbo Kit
You might want to rethink that post guy. The Turbonetics Single Turbo Kit is alive and well. It underwent a major revision and was switched to a liquid cooled unit over the old plain turbo which I have on my 350Z. The problem with the kit WAS the turbo itself got too hot and the intercooler had no sheilding from the turbo, especially the cooler to throttle body pipe which runs 3" above the turbo. Go ahead and flame me for being a Noob but I have a 350Z with the kit you THINK you know something about, Do your research.
Not sure how much has changed with the kit, but I know of a local member that did a few consecutive WOT runs on the highway and the exhaust piping cracked in 3 places causing all kinds of exhaust leaks. The TN wastegates are also horrible and cause all kinds of boost creep, again this is speaking from experience. I have had the pleasure of removing them and installing Tial wastegates on more than one occasion. This is on other turbo systems, not just the Z.
I would also never use a reflash on any car. It will never be correct, as it is just a guess. Elevation, humidity, fuel…ect. all play a role, so tuning is essential.

so you got your Turbo upgraded with the liquid cooled version.. its still DEAD
Its not dead, its owned by Threadstone now and now called the "Threadstone Turbonetics Kit". I just got the new issue of DSPORT in the mail and there's a full page add for it. THe intercooler now says Threadstone.

I will have my car back on Tue or Wed with my kit installed. I will be beating the car to death just like its been beat to death every single weekend for the last 3 years.. For the last 2 years its been beat with N20.
I have the money to build and am not worried about the motor letting go, I realize I have the wrong kit for a FI built motor Z down the line but thats my mistake and im sure ill regret it later when this kit struggles to hit 450+Whp.
I got my baseline Dyno done today before the kit install, 257/243 off bottle, 324/343 on 100 shot.
Heres the video for your enjoyment, filmed on my Droid X BTW.
My kit will include ,
TN Kit used for 5k miles.
Custom Oil Cooler (12 inch rad)
Oil Catch can
Greddy ALUM Oil Pan
440CC Injectors
Turbosmart Blowoff Valve
AEM Wideband
AEM AFR
Osiris Tune, with daily and aggressive maps.
This is a vid from today on the 100shot for comparison before the install.

$5,200 for a turbonetics kit
I hope they kiss you before they ***** you
. I have seen a few local cars with Turbonetics a few things i noticed they all had tons of issues from losing the AC to **** overheating all the way to blown motors with less than 350whp. Save up another $2,000 and get a real kit. The Stillen owners i have met all preach like it is the best thing since rubber wheels but none of them will race or have ever run their cars on the dyno but somehow they all know they make 400whp
. Stillen must send out a DVD with subliminal messages on it or something.
PS good to see Doug is back.

My car has the 1st gen TN kit and it runs fine, the turbo itself is having some issues that I will address myself and as far as I know this turbo kit has been on the car since it was relatively new, and to help your 350hp theory mines sitting at 425whp using Greddy Emanage Ultimate.

Whatever dude another poster just confirmed what I said. The kit is a pretty good starting point. How much the turbo is capable of supporting is unknown to me but with the kit most of the legwork is done. I have a blast driving the car, I've driven it almost daily since I got it.
As General Larry Pratt of American Idol sang...................................
"Pants on the ground"

I'll take my Stealing back, stage 5 with 15psi pulley and their "6 ribs" belt which broke every month!!!!!!!!!!!!

FYI TN sold the rights to sell the Kit to that company.. they don't develop it.. they don't upgrade it and they are not doing any R&D on it.. all they are doing is selling the left over kits TN has left. The Kit should only be purchased by people who have the abilty to weld, modify and install their own Turbo Kit and don't mind doing their own fixes here and there.. never by a General Consumer
Oh so because I'm new to a message board I'm not a mechanic yet? Well I guess I'll throw my ase certifications away and call the thousands of people who own and or operate both civilian and military turbo, super, and twin charged vehicles and tell them I'm a figment of their imagination
And great I'm glad almost no one on this board doesn't use Greddy Emanage. It was on the car when I got it, it works just fine so it's staying. Don't like it? Then feel free to buy me a new system and pay to take the car back to Ballistic Motorsports in NH and pay Scott to retune it.
