suck it up, build the motor, move on with life.. no point dewelling over something that is in the past now. You are in good hands with Vinny building your motor. He is one of BEST around. I know Vinny better than anyone else, he is a trustworthy and stand-up guy. He will work with you im sure as he values your business and will not steer you wrong. Good luck and keep us posted!!

Why should you have to pay for the full tune if it blew up after one pull?

Not really. OP should see how everything turns our once he gets his ride back. If it doesn't put a smile on his face then he can post on "anyone regret going FI". If he does have a smile, he just regrets shelling out a ton of money for going the FI route. I think we all didn't like giving up all that money. But most love the end result.

Find a used stock shortblock with ~30-50k miles on it. You could be back on the road boosted for ~$3k - $5k.

HEY GUS..
you don't know if it was a foundry problem with the rod or detonation either way it's hard to blame installer on first run unless there was snafu like coach suggests......

hey coach

That’s a difficult situation to be in OP…good luck man! Hope everything works out for you!

I boosted my car at just over 90k miles, so far just over 1k miles and I think the OEM clutch is slipping, lol

Cobb in plano texas busted a G35 motor on the first few if not the first pull on the dyno. After a lot of drama, they did replace the motor for victim. i dont think they support the 350z/370z platform any longer.
