Thanks.

Trust me. That motor, stock at least, will never see 16psi ever again. I guess after all that waiting, I got a little carried away.

Thanks as well. I'll try to hurry up and get this thing on the dyno. I know a lot of people have been curious about this setup.

16 psi, 100 psi who cares. if you car is not making 400wtrq regardless of psi , you are relatively safe.

I ran my stock block vortech at 17-18psi for almost 2 years, issue free. I was only making 405wtrq though.

Just got my rims and tires in. However, I'll be exchanging my bias-plys for drag radials since I didn't realize the dangers of mixing bias-ply and radials.

Installed the new intercooler today. If someone can weld the boost limiter valve flange onto my charge piping, I should have the BLV installed tomorrow.

If my work schedule works out, I should be hitting the dyno late next week!

How much bigger is that one over the one that comes with the kit?

4" wider so you need to cut the piping by 2" on each side.

6500rpm - 16psi

It looks like my suspicion of hitting around 17psi was right. Needless to say, I shut it down once I hit 16psi. In the next week or so I plan on doing the following before I get re-tuned:

- Change out my fuel dampers (I have "that" lean spot around 2600-2800rpms)
- Install the wastegate (Set to 12-13psi)
- Install a larger intercooler (3.50'' thick x 7.9'' tall x 24.0'' wide)

I hoping to break the 400whp threshold on our local heartbreaker dyno dynamics. However, I'm more interested to see the power curves in comparison to my first dyno at 9psi. Hopefully, I can get some results early next month for you all who have subscribed. Wish me luck!
Threads,

Who's tuning your setup? I'm somewhat local and would like to see who you are using so I can get my setup tuned from them as well. thanks!

Corr Performance tuned my first setup if you couldn't tell by the dyno sheet. They'll be tuning my current setup as well.

Quick Update: It seems nothing wants to go smoothly on this project. While trying to install the BLV, the "welder" seized the valve in the bung TWICE, and now I'm forced to get a new intercooler pipe. Needless to say, i'm getting someone else to install the valve, and I'm trying to get the welder to pay for the "damages" done. However, I'm just getting the runaround. I'm just ready to get this thing on the dyno....

why are you even messing with a BLV? are you making >400wheel torque on your stock block?

You make a valid point str8dum. I should get dyno'd first to see what the car makes before adding the BLV. I assumed that I was close to that 400wtq number because I was seeing such high boost around redline. However, if I could avoid it, I'd rather not have to make two trips to the dyno if I do get close to 400wtq threshold (w/o the BLV installed).

Update:

I sent over a datalog of a 3rd gear pull to my tuner before setting up an appointment for this Saturday. To confirm my suspicion, I have out grown my fuel system. I am hitting an unsafe duty cycle percentage around 12psi. My tuner is consulting with some resources to find out exactly what I need to do to remedy the issue. It's looking like I'll need a combo of the following: bigger injectors (thinking around 800cc), DW301 fuel pump, CJM Stage 0.

Hopefully, I'll get some recommendations, get this stuff ordered/installed, and finally get retuned...

I just got the following fuel items installed this past weekend:
* DW 300lph Fuel Pump
* ID 1000cc Injectors
* CJM Stage 0 Kit

I'll probably be going to Corr sometime late next week for a dyno tune. I still need to work out some kinks before I put the car on the dyno.

Wow, judging by the injector size, looks like E85 might be in the future?

Haven't given it any thought. I would like to think my setup should be tunable with just 93 octane.

Default Updates??

The suspense is killing me ... I sent my impeller of to Carl @ 928 as well and awaiting the V+ impeller upgrade for my Sc Trim blower.

My Setup:

5/16 Plenum Spacer
Tomei Headers
Tomei Test Pipes
Tomei 264 10.5 Cams
HKS exhaust eBay Style

Glad to know someone is as anxious as I am!

I am scheduled to get tuned sometime this week/weekend. Obviously not tonight, since the tuners have wives!

I did some street tuning last night which went rather well. Tuning the 1000cc's with the Haltech turned out to be alot easier than expected. However, I think I came across a small boost leak and/or belt slip around 6000rpms. I replace the first 4 connections around the intercooler with T-Bolt clamps and silicone couplers. I may have induced some user error there. I'll be debugging that tonight in hopes of getting the car ready for a dyno tune tomorrow night.

Your setup looks promising. Can't wait to see what kind of results you get with headers and cams. However, I noticed that you said you had a SC blower. I hope that the 928 impeller fits that SC volute. Carl told me that the impeller was cut specifically for the S trim volute. Good luck!

Just got back from the dyno tonight. My first run was a very disappointing 343whp@16.1psi. I made approximately that when I got tuned at 9psi. After tuning adjustments by Corr, we were able to get 400whp/367wtq@18psi. We were having issues with my haltech datalog cable above 6400rpms. Because of this, we decided not to get too crazy after 6400rpm. There are still a few horses left to be had on the top end, and I'll be heading back to the dyno once I get a better cable.

Overall, I am a little disappointed with my low numbers. However, I'm glad that my tuner, Corr, was able to squeeze almost 60whp out of with the tune(and a little extra boost). I dyno'd on my heavy 20" rims and FWIW, the dyno dynamics I dyno'd on is about 13% off from a dynojet. The dynojet correction should put me at or about 450whp. I'll be sure to post the graph as soon as I get it.

Even though my numbers were a little low, the car is noticeably faster. Especially comparing the before and after tuning. I think I finally felt my stock clutch slip a little bit.

I'm looking forward to hearing what you guys think.

Of course. Once I get the dyno sheet(s), I'll post them up here.
