GTM has a very good reputation on this board. Like XKR said, do a search and you will find all the info you need.

a fun read

http://g35driver.com/forums/forced-i...-vq-motor.html
https://my350z.com/forum/forced-indu...g35driver.html

That being said, GTM still sells a lot of motors. If they still have problems, its not talked about.
A thing to note though, check about lead times. i know GTM has a rep for extremely long lead times. I guess that happens when you are busy.

well their stage 1 longblock includes head work..their stage 2 i believe is sleeved..that is the only difference..supposively their stage 1 can withstand well over 600whp as said from one of the shop workers.

make sure you ask whats included. From a quote I got, their LB prices are just that, LB

That means you have to do your own timing, timing parts, timing covers, upper and lower oils pans, and valve covers.

If you are not taking your old motor apart, thats a good bit of money in new parts. But most likely all that will have to come off if you are sending in a core.

Apple to apple's all the top engines are priced relatively closely to one another. As str8dum1 alluded to, some of the lower priced engines will use lesser parts, and the more expensive engines will use more or higher strenth parts. Read the details very closely.

Not to nuthug Forged too hard, but do a search and read this years Top Dawg thread. MANY of the top cars are rocking the S1 shortblock. Those guys beat on their cars with confidence.

whats so special about forged performance s1 short block? with the stage 1 long block from GTM you get head work done.valves, retainers etc.. but if i were to go the short block route. i would have stock heads.and would be limited to power.

Actually, the stock heads flow very well. Head work is not needed to make big power. The big thing is the cams. I have S7 cam, stock heads, Forged S1 and I make power 500 whp @ 7000rpm readline and it's still on the upward slope.

- You were doing well till this noob post. Tom made crazy 700+whp on stock heads and so have others. I met Sharif ONCE and he was one of the nicest and most genuine people I have met in this community. I have never met Sam, but I can only speak on what I know. Besides, didn't you just want 4XXwhp

How about you just get your GTM shortblock and just close this thread and STFU then Sounds like you don't want opinions, you want your decision validated.

@Cass007 first of all..there was nothing wrong with what i posted lolz. it was just a question about the s1 short block..there was nothing offending about the question itself..you could've have just stuck with just answering the question and left it as be. and no i dont just want 4XXwhp..if i wanted that kind of hp i wouldn't be wasting my time posting this thread .

I'm just running single walbro. To "safely" run more boost I need a twin/dual pump setup. CJM stage 3 upgrade coming next year when I deploy again. Sharif will up the boost then. But honestly it is a blast now!!
