Hey guys,
I previously had a thread in which I did a 6 speed swap to my 5 speed automatic transmission. At that time I was also swapping in an AEBS 4.3L stroker engine with the above mentioned turbo kit. However, upon installation of the motor and starting it up, there was a knocking noise. It turns out that there was a bad bearing in the motor.
The plan with that motor was that I was going to purchase it once everything was installed and working perfectly. Since this was not the case, I decided to buy a 4.15L stroker short block from Injected Performance. I am going to make this my new build thread as well as added what I did from the previous one too!
What I have done so far...
The day I brought the car in to start the swap:

We originally thought we had to remove the interior wiring harness to do the 6speed swap which we ended up not having to.

Clutch pedal added:

Master cylinder assembly added:

![](http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b110/abushong/db9cb744.jpg)
![](http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b110/abushong/56904a24.jpg)
Added upgraded axles:
![](http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b110/abushong/56904a24.jpg)
Swapped a built LSD 3.3FD rear. I got this from a donor car so I am not exactly sure what is done to it specifically. I just know it is built and is very aggressive.

Rain the fuel lines for the APS Fuel system along with the dual hanger APS fuel assembly:
![](http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b110/abushong/b48e9e37.jpg)
![](http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b110/abushong/3ea6f9f2.jpg)
Also swapped over to a Tein Monoflex coilover suspension set-up with EDFC.
![](http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b110/abushong/36b7812c.jpg)
Had an RPS clutch and flywheel on it. However, the people that installed the assembly used the stock flywheel bolts which due to the stoked motor made them too long. They bottomed out before the flywheel was actually tight. It would rock back and forth. This caused damage to the steel plate and to the spring plate.

Swapping over the only difference in tranny tunnel between the 6speed and the auto:

![](http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b110/abushong/59eb606e.jpg)
6speed installed along with custom cubby gauge holder with boost gauge and Haltech AFR gauge. I now hav a Defi boost gauge to replace the prosport one:

![](http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b110/abushong/7c4ed8c9.jpg)
New Bride Vorga seat:

![](http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b110/abushong/c43e4bf7.jpg)
Also got rid of my Alliance BBK and purchased a Project Mu 6pot front kit. I needed to go smaller in the rear so that I could run a slick set-up in the future. Color looks more blue in these pics:
![](http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b110/abushong/98f79691.jpg)
![](http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b110/abushong/1e9ca974.jpg)
Also purchased an OEM black leather seat to match the Bride seat since my stock frost one looked out of place.
![](http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b110/abushong/b057f14a.jpg)
It was all ready to go![Frown](https://my350z.com/forum/images/smilies/frown.gif)

The specs on the new shortblock are:
VQ35 Shortblock
Brian Crower 4.15L stroker Kit which includes BC 4340 billet steel crank (88mm stroke), 100mm bore, CP aluminum forged pistons 8:5.1
ARP Main Studs
ACL Bearings
ARP L19 Headstuds
OEM Full Gasket replacement kit
Cometic Headgasket for increased bore
Darton M.I.D. sleeves
I will most likely be using my stock heads since I cannot afford any upgrades right now to them. Maybe down the road I will do some modifications to them.
Edit**
Ferrea +0mm intake/exhaust valves
Ferrea full valvetrain (single springs, spring seat locaters, steel valve locks, etc.)
ATI Super Damper
As mentioned before, I will be running the APS Extreme Turbo kit on this set-up with the 3" true dual exhaust along with a Haltech Platinum PnP ECU.
I will also be adding a rear coolant bypass mod and a new Rev-up oil pump. For cooling, I have a Koyo 52mm radiator with dual aftermarket fans.
The clutch assembly that is in it is a Comp Clutch Stage 4 six puck. This will be upgraded in the future.
I plan on starting everything this week and will keep updating as I go!

Thanks guys! I am looking for somewhere around 600whp give or take.
Yes, they have the shortblock ready to go. Just need to go down there and pick it up.
Hal, looking forward to getting it down there as quickly as possible so that you can work your magic!

do you know how much it would have cost you just to do the 6 speed swap? The tranny and labor for the swap included, just an estimate would be nice. I too have an auto, and have been debating between doing this or trading later down the road.

^Yup! I thank you again for the seat. I know I came away with a steal on that one! At least it will be put to good use ![Smilie](https://my350z.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Yeah, 600 is just want I want to hit as of right now. I would like to upgrade the heads and then play around with some more numbers. I may have to throw in a race tune also, I just love that smell![Smilie](https://my350z.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)
As for the 6speed swap, this is what it entails:
Labor would probably be around 15 hours or so. You would then need; a master cylinder, reservoir, clutch line to slave, slave cylinder, manual tranny (which I have an extra of if you need one :P) tranny cross brace, clutch and brake pedal, clutch and flywheel, manual trans engine harness for the same year car to take care of any inconsistencies, or you could get your ECU reflashed I think. If you say a shop does labor at around 90/hr, you're looking at $1,350 for just labor. Then of course all of the parts which price could vary depending on where you got them from (junkyard, forums, dealership, etc).
If you are really interested, we could send you pics of the wiring that we did or actually send you the colors of the wires that you would need to run. Just feel free to PM me!

ahh that was the AEBS motor from injected that was supposed to be good. I bet ya got a sweet deal on that new motor setup. Much more reliable setup now, so probably better in the long run you didnt go much on that AEBS.
Chris, George from GTM days had this same setup a few years ago. made 855ish, the build thread is still in the shop builds. Thats what the OP can achieve with more parts, so that gives you an idea of what to expect, best case scenario
